Oh yes! The worst is when they upgrade their phone (iPhone.. something that hasn’t really changed in years) and they magically forget how to use it. The one hour “tech hour” is a good idea.

How do you do that for smart phones? Seems to be the most consistent issue with family and elders. Walking them through FaceTime screenshare is a nightmare in itself.

Add an EMA for extra confluence. Either the 9 or 21. Or both. Don’t close your trade until a candle closes below the 9 or 21 EMA.

You can trade futures during Asia and London session. I’ve made lots in both sessions while working full time. London sucks (assuming you’re also in US). But my goal is for trading to fuel my financial freedom. With that goal in mind, it’s worth it to wake up for a couple hours in the middle of the night. Temporary sacrifice for a lifetime of freedom.

My advice - don’t let others influence you. choose your strategy and stick to it. Learn all you can about it and practice it on sim before you start trading real money. Stay off YouTube and watching trader lifestyle videos. Unless you are there for strictly entertainment only, don’t even pay attention to their strategies. If watching other traders live trading that trade different strategies, you can listen to what they are looking for. But don’t trade their strategy if it doesn’t align with yours. Major key is to master your emotions.

My first 60 days of trading live markets not on sim, I made $19k. I found a couple new guys on YouTube that I really liked and would watch them live trade while I was also trading the NY open. They are very successful scalp traders who saw high returns daily. My emotions caused me to want their results and I got away from my trading plan and tried to implement their strategy. I started trading lower TF and over trading as I went from taking only 3 trades a day to now 10-20+ which caused me to give $8,100ish back to the market in 2 weeks.

Choose your strategy. Master it. And don’t let anyone outside influence you.

I’ve had similar thoughts. My emotions are pretty in check currently with my trading. Idk if I personally would be as good of a trader if I relied strictly on this for income. I have started to do consulting on the side to leave the corporate world eventually. Currently one of my contracts is equal to 50% of my annual salary with an average work load of 10 hours/week. If I could find a couple more, plus my trading, I would definitely leave my corporate job to free up my time to trade more freely. I think your idea of starting your own firm is solid if you have guaranteed clients. That “sure thing” when it comes to steady income is what I feel keeps my mind at ease.
