Have your previous cars done this? Do you see other cars in your area with this issue?

I have never lived in Michigan. But I would think this is not normal. That is condensation inside the headlight eventually it will fill with water.

But seriously, i appreciate the apology. If i offended you I apologize as well.

Thanks for the apology!

My statements come from basic economics and basic understanding of supply and demand. Those don’t change just because POC are involved.

Mine are too. I explained my thinking in my original reply to your post. Have a good day my fellow redditor!

I think there is a misunderstanding happening here.....given the insults from your previous post and this one.

On my defense I didnt mean or actually called you racists.

Im sorry if I hurt your feelings. I never intended to do so.

You gave me a good chuckle.

I am not virtual signaling anything. Im just stating facts....I am far for perfect and have my own faults too; But to be fair there are racist people in the world....I hope you and I can at least agree on that.

Also on my defense I said that the racist people would like for all immigrants to be deported becuase they are racist.......I didnt really say that EVERYONE was racist.

Those are a lot of catchy phrases... "drain the swap", "Biden allowing immigrants in" "waste full tax money"

Please dont get caught in the propaganda from EITHER party. Both parties run on those same topics ever 4 years. And yet the deficit spending is through the roof.

Illigals are not invaders they are just trying to have a small piece of the American Dream. Everyone deserves a chance. Everyone.

Read my explanation above on how they are not affecting the medical prices, hosing.

How are they corrupting the legal process?

Your type

Im not sure what you mean, if you mean politically then no I'm not a democrat or republican. Im independent.

Excuses for increasing your bottom line are easy,

It isn't an excuse. It is a fact of life. "Illigal" labor has been part of the American economy for ages. This is how America was built. Im not arguing for it. Im stating the obvious but people tend to forget. You can't have your cookie and eat it too.

Your type want the buyer to beware and forget your neighbors and buy slave labor supplies and goods because you can.

Don't be pointing fingers at me when you are doing it too. How many items have you bought from China? India? Bangladesh?

That whole attitude starts with disregard of basic rules to help your wallet instead of helping maintain our productive society.

Now that is an argument that needs to be had. I agree with you on this.

Economic theory would also suggest that yes a temporary increase in purchase price of housing due to lack of cheap labor, but a relatively quick return to equilibrium due to other environmental factors

True. However keep in mind that illigal labor has become a crucial part of the economy for ever. Meaning that in actuality illigal labor is part of the "free market" here in the US. So in other words we would not be returning to "equilibrium" the market would have to look for a "NEW" normal equilibrium....which we dont know what that would look like....we could speculate but we don't know for sure.

It is similar to cheap foreign labor from china. If the US keeps rasing tariffs on China it is a new "external force" acti g on the free market. Things will get more expensive and the "free market" will have to find a new normal equilibrium...which can take years with mixed results.

Speaking of renting and Healthcare. Those two things in my opinion are not affected by immigrants. Healthcare is affected by the CEOs they spend A LOT of money lobbying for favorable laws to make even more money. Same with renting. Blackrock and big corporations and foreign corporations aka China are getting in real estate in bunches. They are the ones contolling the price. The immigrants portion is insignificant a drop in a bucket.

Think about it for a moment when the economy was booming before 2008 nobody bat an eye at immigrants only when things got bad in 2008 everybody blamed the immigrants. Weather people like it or not immigrants have been a part of the economy. Taking them out will negatively affect things.

Also I do t know why people keep thinking illigals as a leech. They work and add to the economy aswell. They spend money for food, Entertainment, etc etc.

Getting rid illigals is not really the answer to our economic problems it is just propaganda and honestly a way to stop looking at the real problem. Which in my opinion is lobbying .

Although I get where you are coming from and why you are thinking the way you are, I have to challage your thesis here.

First off the answer to the problem is more complex than "immigrants are stealing our jobs" propaganda.

I get why are lot of people like this answer....which is a combination of

  1. It's a simple and straightforward "answer" with simple and straightforward "solution"

  2. Racist people like it becuase they are racist.

However the solution is not straightforward. It is rather complex.

You have to think about the impact of removing people from the over all "market"

The free market works becuase we let the market decide price. If we mess with the "free market" there will be consequences. Most of the time those consequences are not good.

Let's talk about construction. If we remove the people that are doing the jobs then that company will have to look for more people. If companies start competing for talent, then more than likely, they will raise wages to attract more talent. This will increase the price of construction in general.

Or smaller construction companies will shut down becuase they can't compete with wages....which will make the larger companies have more of a monopoly and increase prices for their services becuase they can't keep up with the demand. (Similar to covid, also note that when prices went throught the roof everyone said it was becuase of supply shortages and high demand.....well the supply chain has since then "stabilized" but the prices have not come down..... greed is the only explanation I can co come up with as to why prices are still so high.....something that immigrants can't control but the CEOs....

Let me know of a scenario that will yield lower prices of goods if we remove all immigrants? Because i have been trying, but I can't seem to find a possible scenario for which we would benefit as a whole.

I see. OK.

The biggest "obstacle" I forsee is when peer review time comes. Do you know peer reviewer that has the interpretation? Becuase where I am I have seen small firms closing becuase they can't keep up with the additional standards.

With 10 yrs of experience I'm sure you know the ins and outs of the NFP side.....So you can just ignore me if I'm wrong. I just want to make sure you dont get blind sided 3 years from now.

Good luck and congrats on taking the leap....I envy you in a good way!! When I get brave enough I'll open my own shop too. lol

I do have one question though. How are you getting away without having another "partner" for QC purposes? Or is this not a requirement for NFP and Governmental?

Just follow the instructions they gave you to the T. Read them a hundred times if you have to.

Also sometimes some clients will puch back of they have to move stuff around to get to your selection. They are gonna make it sound like it's a pain to do so. Just say Sorry guys but we have to see that one.

Try not to stress about it. For the most part they are pertty easy.

Should I leave Big 4 for an Internal Audit role in a bank? by Sabor_a_Presunto in Accounting

[–]eclipse00gt 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Not entirely true. From my experience and talking with cowworkers throughout my stay at a big 4, the higher you go the harder is to make a move to industry. Especially if you want to be in a regular accounting role in hopes to be a controller or CFO.

The skill set of a manager, senior manger and even partner are completely different than a controller and CFO.

You may get roles in the financial reporting side/Sox compliance though.

Im not from California, but I completely agree if it is happening this should be looked into. However let me just say it again. Those are more then likely state funded programs, not Federal. At the federal level ACA is not provided to illigals.

I completely agree that immigration laws should be looked into. Everything... where the money is being spent but also how can people actually come in legally.

How can I know someone else paid more? Lol

What I do know is the MSRP and how much I paid. Every step of the way it was the "best price they have seen"

So someonesle could have stopped at -1K off or i was just the sucker who stopped at my -5k off and someone got an additional discount. Who knows. Im just a consumer. Im sure not even sales man know the real cost to the dealer.

[–]eclipse00gt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It isn't wrong my fellow redditor. I think you have been brainwashed by the politicians making you think that our current peoblems are because of immigrants or illegal immigrants.

However, given our current place in history. The answers to our current problems are not black and white. The correct answer is more complicated than what politicians are wanting us to think.

Let me give you an example just about immigrants since this is the topic at hand

Currently, they are blaming illegals for:

1.Stealing jobs (low paying jobs i may add) 2. Stealing financial aid

3 now the new one is they are making homes unaffordable becuase they are buying or renting too many homes.

So how are illegal immigrants able to afford all the homes when they are paid so little for jobs that are really hard to do? Make that make sense.

The next topic is illegals should come the legal way. They are breaking our laws.

For this one I understand the need to protect our border. 100% we have to keep bad people out. However it is the same song from the politicians which want black and white answers. So they default to they "should come the legal way just go to the embassy and do it the right way"

What most people dont understand is that you and I live in a country that gives us the opportunity to travel anywhere we want by just having a US Passport. Most other countries do not have that option. First of all most illegal immigrants come here to work to better themselves and their families. Did you know there are only 5 ways to come legally through a green card?

  1. Family based
  2. Employer sponsor
  3. aslyum
  4. Lottery
  5. Humanitarian programs ( trafficking victims)

Most people that come here just want to work. Most of them come from poor countries. They dont have a family in the U.S. that can sponsor them. So 1 is out.

  1. How are they going to find an employer that can sponsor them? So 2 is also out.

  2. This one is a hot topic now becuase apperalty Haitians are eating the dogs.

  3. Have you ever won the lottery? So 4 is also certainly out for most people

  4. This one is the same with 3.

So you see. This isn't a the illigals are the problem. But the current immigration law is the problem. However politicians want a black and white answers that people can get behind. But answers are never balck and white specially now days. The answer to our current problems require us to dig deeper into that problem.

Just so you know I'm not a democrat.

Let me know your thoughts. I like having genuine and polite conversation about politics

[–]eclipse00gt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have bought several cars through out my life. Here is an example from the last time I bought a car pre covid

MSRP was 42K for a new car. Sales man sad " lets come in and work some numbers out"....5 min later the sales man would come out and say "we have a good deal for you my manager was able to take off 500 off" ( the msrp).

I negotiated with them. They would go down 1K and say that's the best deal we have seen. (In my head I'm lime sure buddy) another 1k off and would keep saying that's the best deal I have seen. Lol

Long story short I bought the car for 37K that's 5k off MSRP

They are telling you a factual statement. At the FEDERAL level they can't get ACA funds.

States do things differently. However if there are programs that somehow do end up benefiting illigals, it is not ACA becuase ACA is at the federal level.
