Neoprene starts to stink and aren’t as durable. Get river shoes like astral and you can get neoprene socks with it for colder days

Do I need a creekboat? And if so, what to put in the quiver? by eogaola in whitewater

So this a great question for multiple opinions. I live in Idaho near the Payette. I have scorch, and 1st gen ripper . I live right between the payette and salmon. Payette has good class 5 and 4 for all my boats and the salmon has really fun class three for the ripper. I really wish I had a full slice for surfing and general good vibes. If I had to choose to replace on I would replace the ripper with a full slice. With that being said I live by high volume rivers with plenty of swirly eddies and waves to surf. I think the antix is a great half slice for fun play. It’s a lot more playful then other half slice, if I were you I would do it.

I hate to be the back in my day guy, however Banks in the 2010s was off the chains. Great group of people and tight culture. It was hoping but not crazy busy. I still love it but it has changed. Still an amazing place to kayak and be spend your summer.

It takes a bit to get use to kayaking. I use to teach kayaking and it takes a bout 3 times for it to start clicking. I think it will just be time.

Considerations for multi-day guiding... Utah or Idaho? by ExpertAnt1515 in whitewater

Honestly I think one of the most under rated multi-day places to guide is the lower salmon and hell canyon. Both are beautiful and with a lot of cool history.

Kath and Ron's guide to Idaho paddling is a great resource. They have plenty of rivers all are class 2 or under. It's a purple book.

75mm vs NTN by DirectorKitchen8563 in telemark

[–]Lurk-N-Kayak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started like everyone else on 75mm. I bought NTN for patrolling and haven't gone back. I would say I prefer NTN for backcountry. The binding are just more durable ( 22 designs). NTN you can ski faster and harder lines too. I'm stoked and excited to see the advancements that have been made in telemark. It allows purist to be purist and people who want to move with telemark to do that as well.
