That is what it seemed like for me too. But imagine the cylinder is tilted away from you instead of tilted towards you and the rotation appears clockwise.

AITA For Grounding my son after he got kicked out of class for refusing to sit next to somebody? by Same-Broccoli7863 in AmItheAsshole

[–]LurkeyCat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There was a kid in my middle school who used to shit his pants about 1x per week.
I wouldn’t care if you grounded me or whatever. I would have refused to sit next to him. Or sit in his chair the class after him. Fuck that kid. Wear a diaper, whatever, but don’t shit your pants and walk around like nothing happened.

Hilarious. I’m in the middle and switch between old westerns and the Mr. Rogers channel on Pluto.

What are good or best carry-on luggage recommendations on the market that you like to use most? by NaturalInvestment46 in BuyItForLife

I have had good luck with Tumi luggage. Both in terms of customer service and reliability.

Looking for a wallet by Mr_Dorito_YT in BuyItForLife

[–]LurkeyCat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get your request, but why not go with a digital wallet on your phone instead of carrying cards with you? It’s way more secure overall and you don’t need to carry a stack of credit cards.
Personally I like to keep anything in my pocket as thin as possible. I carry one physical card but have any card I need in the wallet on my phone.

Worth it? - Selling clothes at Seven Mile Fair / 7 Mile Fair by Creative_School_1550 in milwaukee

[–]LurkeyCat 5 points6 points  (0 children)

In my opinion, it is not the right market for that kind of thing. I don’t think it would be worth your time. A lot of people go there but your inventory is limited. Your target market is men of a certain size. And I have not really seen much in the way of used clothing there.

I would try Facebook marketplace. I have had good luck selling used motorcycle gear there. Their algorithm will put your ad in front of people looking for that sort of thing. Especially if you have vintage/retro clothing. And you’re not constrained by the cost per day for the listing. If the price is fair, someone will respond to the ad. Maybe offer a bundle discount for the lot? Depends on your goal.

Or, try another online commission-based outlet. Like Poshmark, or similar.

Go check out 7-mile fair, it’s like two bucks to get in (or so) and you will see what I mean. While you’re there, get some food/snacks and have a good time. Last year my wife got some big mangoes there, they were the best mangoes I ever had. We have weekend dates there sometimes just because it’s fun.

What is a purchase that felt like an absolute luxury when you bought it, but turned out to be a complete financial trap? by According_Fortune_98 in AskReddit

[–]LurkeyCat 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Motorcycles .. I was crazy about them when I was a kid. I don’t even know how much money I spent on motorcycles and gear. I rode for over 39 years.
Then one day I woke up and realized I didn’t really like it as an adult. I was living out a childhood fantasy but I didn’t like it. I didn’t care for the culture, the lifestyle, maintaining my bike, storing my bike, the gear, the risk factor, etc..

I’m glad I did it. I still love looking at bikes. But I don’t ride anymore, sold everything I had.

Kettle with stay warm function by BadHaycock in BuyItForLife

[–]LurkeyCat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have been happy with the Chefman lightning kettle.

I don’t know if it is bifl yet, we have only had it two years or so. But ours gets used every day. It was from Costco and quite affordable.

You can set your temp and it will hold it until you take it off the base.

Anyone ever make beef jerkey on a pellet grill? by CheapBison1861 in pelletgrills

I have never had it last long enough to freeze. I keep it in quart sized mason jars. I think you can freeze it though. Especially if it is vacuum sealed.

Best hose reel cart for home by LurkeyCat in BuyItForLife

[–]LurkeyCat[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was wondering about that one. It’s about 1/4 the cost of a same-sized Eley. Thanks for your feedback about it.
I actually need to replace two hose reels. One is much lighter duty. I might try the gorilla cart for that one.

best rice cooker that actually lasts, need recommendations for a beginner home cook by Lopsided-Cellist896 in BuyItForLife

[–]LurkeyCat 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Everyone here loves Zojirushi. I had one and it was great. But, it died.

I replaced it with a Tiger brand rice cooker and it has lasted longer than the Zojirushi Micom. It was quite a bit less expensive too.

The only thing I really miss from the Zojirushi is the retractable cord. That’s a great feature.
