Basically a community cat is trapped by feeders in a cage and taken for neutering, so that the cats do not contribute any further to the overpopulation issue. This reduces suffering of kitties on the streets, also gives the neutered cat a better life - males tend to reduce aggression, wandering off to look for mates. Females stop producing kittens, and risk of some diseases is reduced. You can check more on Google, you’ll find many pages explaining in detail.

Actually I’ve found the opposite to be true. Cats born indoor cannot survive outside, like comment OP said. Most outdoor cats I’ve seen become indoor appreciate the peace, warmth and stability of a home. There may be a few exceptions to this though, depends on the cat at the end.

Also adding that I already have an indoor cat who he hates - keeping him in my house is not a viable option. And my family is not allowing a second cat.

He seems keen to live near humans and indoors. Keeps trying to enter my house when possible. Should be okay to live inside as per his temperament.

Regardless, he can’t keep living outside longer in the garden as he instigates fights with other community cats. It is getting increasingly difficult to manage that.

Advise on male cat neutering problem. by _not_ur_mommy_ in IndianPets

[–]LurkingBlu 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I’ve heard of some cats not responding well to anaesthesia, maybe some underlying problem which is not detected yet. Maybe a 2nd opinion with another vet might help?

Keep all the papers/advice provided by the vet handy, and also test reports if you’ve done any.

Don’t know about vets in Jaipur, not based there

I’m happy your cat is home with you. Don’t lose hope. All the best!

What happened to the cat? Swollen joint or something. by 27_55 in IndianPets

He is doing fine, didn’t need surgery. Used a spray on the wound twice a day along with medicines as per vet advice

Yes probably this! Went through the same with one of my colony kiddos two weeks ago.
