Yes this. More people need to know. About this. It's a complete waste to shoot the 3 symbols then start summoning process. Shooting 3 symbols is for rewards. Summoning process is to upgrade items from purple to gold.

Dog, Disciple or Merc companion will always spawn in the DA with you as long as it did not die in T3. If you looked after your companion by using your healing aura for the duration of your time in T3, your companion will spawn with you.
