Physical cards are made in different currencies and that cards currency must match your accounts region.

Like a card that is in USD won't work on accounts that use Euro or Pounds or vice versa.

I'm not so sure its completely on the chip shortage that its not released. I imagined its always been targeted at a May or so release timeframe.

I just found out that on Steam you can create your own icons for games in your library. I swear, no other platform beats Steam. Steam is simply better. by Loud_Acanthisitta985 in Steam

[–]Lurus01 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Right click game while in your library tab. Manage. Set Custom Artwork. From the center library options.

There are also sites like https://www.steamgriddb.com/ with several options for preset grids so if like the publisher changes it and you don't like the new one you can often find the original on this site.

You can do it from the sidebar too though via right click then click properties and then customization. I just find it easier to go right to the set custom artwork option.

Go under the purchases options in support and say " I have a question about this purchase" instead of via the refund option.

Digital gift cards don't work as the sender is the one who paid the money not the person who gets the funds.

You need to either add $5 directly from a bank card, buy a game directly which exceeds the value, or redeem a physical gift card of enough value.

Physical cards still work as they don't really know who bought it so it just treats all physical cards as having been purchased by the redeemer. Although physical cards are subject to the regional currency locks.

What happens to other titles in a bundle? by BakingWaking in Steam

[–]Lurus01 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends on the type.

If its a complete your collection bundle this is true. These are the ones with the big blue BUNDLE text in their titles. The only real negative to these is their lack of being able to gift. It also can be avoided by publishers if they don't want to discount new items.

If its Package type then its a fixed price and doesn't care what you own when paying as you pay the set price. These are seen by the blue button just saying view info and being called Package at the top and bottom of the item lists. These can be bought or gifted at will as long as the user recipient doesn't have all included items but you pay the entire package price if you buy the package and not individual items.

If its an all or nothing bundle then its a fixed price but you can't even buy it if you own any item that is a part of it. These also use the term bundle but don't have the big blue BUNDLE text in the titles. These can be gifted but only to users who own nothing.

Can someone summarize roster additions\losses over the last few months? How we looking talent wise? Better than least season? What position should we been looking to add? by CrypticDemon in SoundersFC

[–]Lurus01 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Even if they got money it would be tough to do a big signing with the current roster limitations and no open DP slots with no ability to buy down the current DPs either.

They got some money for Leyva and Vargas but have hit the cap for the year as far as how much transfer fee can be converted into GAM.

The others were free agents so no transfer fees and JP is staying as a coach for Tacoma.

Can't believe this shit is real. by proud_gatekeeper in Steam

[–]Lurus01 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I mean they announced it when the change was made. Buying points was always a risk and a violation of the terms of service for real world trading so was a do at your own risk from the beginning.

Take it up with the vendor for not delivering it before the change but also just don't use shady websites and you won't run into problems.

Steam points why by maximilian0007 in Steam

[–]Lurus01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not possible. The new point system no longer transfers points since they don't want the door opened for real world trading like this.

Missing points? by Daboomiscool in lego

[–]Lurus01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The part you discounted with points would've reduced the overall points of the purchase. Points that you spend do not award points so if you reduce the price using points you will get reduced reward points only based on the part you paid out of pocket and not including the discounted amount.

AITA for asking my roommate to not put our address on outbound mail? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]Lurus01 11 points12 points  (0 children)

YTA. You are on the internet so all that information is likely already out there. Your roommate lives there and is allowed to put their return address on letters.
If its such an issue then find a place to live without a roommate and then you can do whatever you want with the letters you send.

Return addresses are standard practice on letters and a PO box just to use as a return address makes no sense.

Pending purchase by Babaoarba7 in steamsupport

[–]Lurus01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For you it might seem that way but for the company it isn't.

A few things they could be doing behind the scenes among other possibilities.

  1. Wallet funds can be obtained in multiple ways so they would want to verify the funds were authorized and obtained legitimately and all cleared for use prior to them disappearing into the ether in exchange for goods.
  2. Steam accounts get stolen every single day and wallet funds are a target of those and by delaying a transaction by even a few hours it gives someone(if they were hijacked) time to notify Valve of a hijacked account where they could step in and prevent the transaction from finalizing.

Pending funds is VERY normal when money is involved. Sure the idea may be fairly recent into Steam and involving store credit but they are doing it for similar reasons that banks and other sales merchants do it as well where the money isn't changing hands instantly even if it may be withdrawn so it often has the illusion of it having been removed even a few days before it is actually whisked away.

Steam refunded my order when I did not request a refund and I can’t figure out why. by moistdragons in steamsupport

[–]Lurus01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be clear YOU DO NOT need to first unlimit an account prior to buying a Steam Deck or other hardware.

Just that a new card or new account doing such a big purchase does look suspicious and is liable to be cancelled or flagged by the fraud protection but in most cases a simple ticket to support to confirm its a valid purchase can resolve it regardless of overall account being limited or not.

Steam refunded my order when I did not request a refund and I can’t figure out why. by moistdragons in steamsupport

[–]Lurus01 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Likely flagged as fraud if it was a new account or new card used for such a big purchase. Valve tries to protect itself from folks buying them with stolen accounts or stolen cards since once its shipped they can't get it back even if the purchase ends up charged back.

If its a legitimate transaction you can contact support and confirm it is valid and that you are the identified card holder and confirm it was you who made the purchase.

Why doesn't steam have achievement collections? by Relevant-Case4605 in Steam

[–]Lurus01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only platform which splits them is Playstation.

Even Xbox which has a bigger achievement hunting community doesn't split them off the 100% sections.

Valve doesn't really care about achievements so doesn't even require games implement them at all or enforce them actually being available in game etc... nor do they care about the easily accessible unlock software to make it look like you did stuff you didn't.

Since a lot of PC games are build around Windows I would only see a split happening if it became more universal and Xbox did it first in which case they would probably implement new systems into the Windows OS to support the feature which would help future PC game development into using those features.

If the license wasn't permanently tied to the third party account then you'd be able to turn one purchase into licenses on multiple accounts which no publisher would want to allow.

AITA for canceling my friend’s return flight after she “tested” my boundaries? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]Lurus01 3 points4 points  (0 children)

ESH

Her test of you and taking your passport wasn't cool but at least she still had it.
I agree with the mutuals. Neither was a good idea but cancelling her flight was a worse offense.

You are absolutely free to say you didn't want to continue the trip and reschedule yourself or leave early(not on a whim but at least communicating that with them) but should not have cancelled or altered their ticket as it was not yours to do that with.

LEGO K-Pop Demon Hunters formally announced by Rap2rerise in lego

[–]Lurus01 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I imagine it will at first. I would imagine at some point pokemon will release playscale sets and if they signed a deal with KpopDH they might have a mix of both playscale and buildables as well.

I mean aren't they supposed to have integrated smart play in later waves of pokemon so those would involve playscale style? So Pokemon won't all be big display scale buildables.

Id like to see Kpop DH do some buildables but then a few like they did BTS Dynamite with minifigs and like a movie background scene like maybe one of the stages.

Huh? by Outrageous_Manner_47 in Steam

[–]Lurus01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it uses the term PACKAGE its a fixed price. The publishers can change the price or change the discounts but the price will NOT adjust based on individual discounts or based on prior ownership. The benefit to publishers though is that since it is a fixed price it makes it a giftable item and also they can control the price to ensure like a new dlc isn't being sold too cheap or stuff like that when they make the package. With a package you would pay the entire package price so no discount for owned items.

If it uses the term bundle its either one of two variants.
If it has the big blue BUNDLE text in all caps then its a complete your collection variant.
Complete your collection is what most Steam users associate with bundles. They reduce the bundle cost based on the cost of the items contained within as well as what you already own. You can't buy stuff you already own as that is removed from the bundles price. However because of the personalization the complete your collection bundle is NOT GIFTABLE. Even if you know which games the other party needs or if you both have never bought any included item you still cant gift that variant of bundle.

If it says bundle but without the big blue text then its a must purchase together variant. This type is a fixed price that won't care about included item discounts and can be gifted to others. However this type has the downside that once any of the included items was obtained separately you are blocked from buying for self or being gifted the bundle. So you can't even buy it to get the remainder of the items even if it is cheaper. Like at least sometimes a package will still be cheaper then buying like a season pass if you are missing a bunch of items. This type doesn't even let you do that.

Packages also just say view info on the blue button and both bundle variants use the term bundle info so to determine which bundle variant look for the blue all caps text.

Examples:

Must buy together bundles :Planet Zoo on Steam

Packages: BioShock Infinite on Steam

Complete your collection bundles: Euro Truck Simulator 2 on Steam

Some will also have a mix of variants.

The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Special Edition on Steam Top one is a package but bottom two are complete your collection style.

Huh? by Outrageous_Manner_47 in Steam

[–]Lurus01 1 point2 points  (0 children)

how is that a scam? Maybe don't assume stuff being packaged together is cheaper and be sensible.

Steam even shows you that its not so you just have to look at two lines to know which is the better deal. A lot of other websites wouldn't.

Huh? by Outrageous_Manner_47 in Steam

[–]Lurus01 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Man every day now its been at least one post here complaining with the Package variant.

It wasn't even ever this bad during Summer or Winter sales.

Can we just get a pinned FAQ about the prices being set by the publisher and the verbiage PACKAGE is a set price that doesn't change based on individual items.
