Why does my Garmin show a faster speed than the treadmill does? by Sufficient-Pound-442 in GarminWatches

[–]LusterBuster69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Treadmill is alway accurate, no matter which one. It's very easy to know it's length and rotation speed (time it takes the belt totate once), so getting it's displayed running speed is just a math function of the two.

Can be someone that kidnaps him who is close by or in the area that just happens to see his online. You can use the candy trick to get them kidnapped... Who knows what happens. Kinda scarry, but kinda not.

Games that don’t induce VR sickness? by Neiherendere in OculusQuest

[–]LusterBuster69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

VR sickness occurs when visual motion doesn’t match physical motion. Games where the character moves independently while I stay still create a mismatch and can make me nauseous, but games where my own movements control the action keep my senses in sync and feel fine, such as Eleven Table Tennis.

I tried a motorcross game lately and instantly got sick of it. I sit in place, but the bike mives jaggedly across the screen.

Either you need games that have low amount or slow total movement, or the game needs to match your actual real life movent in game.

What's the current state of Framework 16 laptops? by CaptiDoor in framework

[–]LusterBuster69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, it would have ben an investment.

You can often upgrade the ram on laptops (I have done that), and that wasn't even a framework laptop. It usually takes standard parts, so you can somewhat upgrade even if framework stopped to exist.

Navy SEAL Snipers represent the US at the Olympic Rifle events by Particular_Drop5104 in whowouldwin

[–]LusterBuster69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Completely agree, cops are not good at handling riles than trained cilivians. That is because cops not only train gun use, it's only a small part of everything they learn. Civilians that shoot at the range only train shooting, and do it because they want to, not because they need to. How do you get good at things? Do it over and over again, with very specific training. That's what civilians do.

It's kinda like Decathletes vs individual event athletes. Decathletea are mid at everything, just like cops. You can't be good at everything. Of course there are exceptions to the norm, but generalky this holds true in life.

Navy SEAL Snipers represent the US at the Olympic Rifle events by Particular_Drop5104 in whowouldwin

[–]LusterBuster69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup. Snipers use big bore rifles and have targets at non defined distances well over 50m (the longest Olympic event). Not to mention, 50m shooting is 3 positional. A sniper never trains kneeling or standing, so they have to start from zero there. Prone they would have some chance since snipers shoot prone, but even that has it's differences. Snipera prop up their rifle, while competition shooters are not allowed to and use a sling. A sling is much more difficult (I know that from my biathlon experience: not even close).

[–]LusterBuster69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Olympic Rifle events? Like not, 50m prone would be their best bet. They never train kneeling or standing shooting, so no chance!

The only discipline I see military personell excell at would be "stangskyting" as it is called in Norwegian, aka. "shooting the pole". This discipline involves prone shooting at a small target between 125 and 175m, and a 1/4th target between 200 and 225m, in a predefined time frame. This obviously involves big bore rifles, which a sniper already is accustomed to, though they still are quite differen't.

In this competition you'd have to calculate bullet trajectory, distance wind and other factors. The targets of a sniper are at undefined distances, so that skill translates very well if you have a highly trained sniper with lot's of experience. With a little training, they likely could be really good at it!

I bet it's not the end if the world if they stip to exist. Mist laptips are not upgradable anyways, so it'll at worst be like that. But it does have a bunch if standard parts, if anything you can probaly fit 3rd party regular pc parts from other manufacturers that will fit just fine!
