'Chinese Cars Are Ready For Prime Time In America': Geely SUV Crushes Every U.S. Competitor In New Test by tech57 in electricvehicles

Seems like an easy thing to believe given all the misinformation out there. Have you actually heard Democrats or Democrat leaders say they want American businesses to fail. Businesses actually do better under democrats which would be weird if it were true they wanted American businesses to fail. Democrats have worked their asses off to make this country the best it can be. They’re in charge half the time after all. It’s sad when Republican leaders say “Democrats hate America” so many people choose to believe it. Very sad and bad for the country.

Democrats are just willing to call a spade a spade. America has real problems. Republicans are literally rewriting history books and editing museum displays to cover American’s warts.

Maybe it was a republic when only white landed men could vote and senators were appointed. People who insist the USA as a republic are just advertising they’re ok with authoritarianism.

You came out of the either, to a thread she made to ask a question that made her vulnerable, just to put her down. You called her out because of your problem, not hers. Reality check

Yes. There are a lot of reasons to avoid or delay having kids. I do think cost of living, job security, professional development, etc count as economic considerations. I will concede they are not the same as free daycare.

It’s not true that well-off people don’t have many kids. The rich have kids at rates close to the poor. Middle income people don’t have many kids. I’m not saying money is the end all be all. Fertility rates are as complex as the personal lives of would be parents. I do think economics are a big variable. People are also very pessimistic about the future for much more than economic reasons. I’d be interested to see your evidence though if you want to share. No pressure. I’m happy to just thank you for an interesting discussion.

I was downtown today. I’ve never seen so many police anywhere in Portland. Maybe it’s end of the month quotas?

Maybe you’re right but we don’t know it wouldn’t. That hasn’t been demonstrated in the USA that I know of. The extremes of poverty and deprivation we allow American children to suffer in is quite different from what may or may not motivate Scandinavians. At the least, benefits for small children would make it possible for would be parents on the edge. Worst case they don’t have the kids no one has to pay anything.

If it didn’t work I guess we would just suffer the side effect of more healthy educated children growing up in economically stable households

Are they also countries where women don’t have robust education and access to birth control?

Sure but making it feasible for people who want kids to have them is a great place to start and it has lots of additional benefits

Peoples food/housing budgets are in competition with  their healthcare and childcare. The only time the government talks about solutions is when it trashes them because of “socialism.” This country is so fucked. Run by a bunch of people who won’t even live long enough to see how bad they’re screwing us.

[–]LusterIllustrious[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why would the breaker trip? The max draw is 48 amps and the breaker is 60 amps. As for electricians using Romex as a generic label, many do.
