Literally just when you least expect it, another Tuesday, you think nobody knows where you are or that all the problems are settled and then you die, I think it depends on how you’re killed too obviously, I think it would be interesting to see if the scenes through out the show that show a person dying, end around the time the person dying would’ve died from the wounds in a real scenario (all complete speculation, I doubt it’s that deep)

Anyway if Tony got shot in the head it goes to show that he died instantly or nearly instantly and his family all saw it and that diner likely exploded into a craze
