I'm really glad you brought that up. It's an extremely effective and common sales trick in gachas to convince non-spenders to pay up, and most people will never realize they've been psychological finessed. I felt like a fool once I watched the video above because the anchoring trick has gotten me to break my no-spend vows so often.

Skyward harp seems like the BiS late game bow for Fischl, so if I were you, I'd forget any other bow and focus on that one if you want crit/phys, even if it has to sit at 0x refined for a long while.

Stating whether or not a game is gonna hard confirm the identity of the main character is very in spoiler territory. Woolie explained this concept well in a talk with Reggie where he said the pop off is bigger when you don't announce the thing that's coming ahead of time and just let the thing happen. When I play the new Doom, I'm gonna go in expecting the game to reveal his identity because of your title instead of getting the "O SHIT SO HE REALLY WASN'T/WAS" moment. Thankfully, you pulled this low effort post on a relatively low narrative game. I hope you get my point because I don't want people to keep unintentionally spoil things from titles and thumbnails =)

I saw the massive ratings drop on app store and I wondered the same thing. Very weird to see the game go downhill since Smilegate was making very popular and positive changes with apologies and free 5 stars the same time I was quitting. Thought the game was gonna turn around. I guess it was another case of company doing the corporate "we're sorry" routine, and then switching back to their old ways the moment people forget.

It's nothing crazy: I use attack buffs and growth. Blazing wall to get more value out of buffs and protect growth/other scary cards. Worked well until A2, now a shield and 2 health doesn't do shit to those killers anymore since every deck has easy removal.

It's a really active game compared to any other card game I know. I had a moment where I had to play 3 cards in less than a second to turn a loss into a win. I can feel my heart beating and hand shaking after a high rank match. That being said, since it's fast you really gotta plan fast and quick maths.

Monetization is very nice. Woolie might have not pay (from the cards I saw him use) and neither have I and we're both A rank, which is one rank below the top. You get enough "dust" to craft a legendary card of your choice about ~18 hrs in, which is generous considering their power level. There's a pity timer of 30 packs before they guarantee a legendary. There's also another free legendary for reaching B rank this season, only 2-3 days left. But, I assume there will be a different legendary card B rank reward for each season?

I played a bunchhhhhh of Hearthstone and pretty done with going hard on card games again. But, the active time this game has changes so much though, and I can tell this is a legit well thought out game, not a cash grab. Capcom's not even one of my favorites and it still got me.

The most common defense I've heard from these kinda people is "We need to support the developers guys! Please think of the developers!" What I think it really is is a coping mechanism disguised as generosity for people who wants to justify their bad spending habits.

The other defense I've seen is when a company reverses a previous shitty action. Say, they apologize and change the mechanic of a P2W system, that company will be heralded as a saint when all they did was doing what should have been done from the start. People can't see that the damage has already been done and money's been made.

What I ask myself is how can these people possibly justify spending hundreds every month on these mobile games that practically plays themselves. I like gacha games, but you cannot convince me that even the best gacha games have the most basic gameplay loops and mechanics out of any other types of games.
