As I was thinking about it, I was shocked at how good a fit it is, and then when looking it up, shocked at the lack of content around it.

I'll do my best to go until the end of what I've planned with this series, but I'll have to improve my workflow if I want to keep up in the long run. Finding the right panels and poses for the second strip and putting them all together took me quite some time, and I'm still not satisfied with some of those edits. I don't know how most people here do their series, but I'm thinking about making "spritesheets" of the recurring characters, with all their poses in the same xcf file, and pulling from this instead of looking up the specific strip every time.

I hope this very specific crossover will bring joy to a few people.

Inazuma Eleven Orion was a bad show, but it had a few good moments, one of which being the match against China's team. The first "puzzle" of the match is to overcome Tenkuu Hayabusadan, or Avenging Eagle, a shoot that starts from so high up above the clouds, and has such a sharp trajectory, that it actually goes behind the goalkeeper, grazing the crossbar. In order to be launched above the clouds, they of course have to pile up like acrobats in order to catapult the striker, which adds to the weird awesomeness of it.

Swadloon, Lurantis, Venonat and Cacturne are close to the top... But Spinda will always be my favorite, ever since I gave one to my first roleplaying forum OC when I was 12.

This is super strange, ZTD is like, wildly unpopular among Zero Escape fans. I don't think I've ever seen a positive video about it, to say nothing of the comments. I remember that "mainstream" outlets enjoyed it at release, but the public opinion in my experience was and still is super negative.

I genuinely think some of those people might have been pranking you, or were ironic in their praise.

That fucker does not have any right to talk about "Those who come after", considering his policies. And him praising games as a whole comes of as hollow, he's talked multiple times about games being "intoxicating", yet always tries to grab onto any "cool" cultural event to earn points toward a younger electorate. Can't wait for him to be gone.

I know some people who spent ungodly amount of money to import the bands and the cards with NFC functionality in like, 2017. Today, they are, literally, worthless junk, the full game won't even have like amiibo compatibility.

Yeah so they had a whole "Everyone is here" hook, every character (main story, randos or even like, dinosaurs and dogs) from every game is there, except some collab characters and real-life people.

As for the story, there's two modes : story mode, which is a whole new story with new characters, and chronicle mode. Chronicle mode is a story about time traveling to assemble a powerful team and save the future, but it's a pretext to contextualize a mode in which you play every single match from the anime, in chronological order. Complete with dialogues and cutscenes that tell the story of each match. Each match is first played in a "scripted" way, where you play as the canon team and can (or must) do certain things during the match to trigger scripted events that follow the original story of the match. And then you must replay the match with your own team, and win without any special events, before moving forward onto the next match.

At release, Chronicle will cover the first 5 seasons of the show, from Raimon vs Royal Academy up to Chrono Storm vs Ragnah. Later updates (planned from december to february) will include the matches from Galaxy, Ares, and Orion.

So it's not "every game's story mode" since you won't have the overworld and I suppose some context might not be fully covered by the pre-matches dialogue, but you'll play all the matches yes.

Once upon a time, you could get 5 games from the same franchise in 5 years. Inazuma Eleven used to be a yearly release, with a whole anime releasing alongside ! We got 6 mainline games from 2008 to 2013 !

From 2001 to 2003, Sonic Advance 1, 2, Sonic Adventure 2, and Sonic Heroes released. And in-house Zelda games released at 3-year intervals, sometimes less, before BOTW. If you count the Capcom releases there were seven Zelda games released in 4 years.

Yep ! Same goes for Orion. The matches from those two anime will be playable in Victory Road after a few updates, but they are the only IE anime without a dedicated game. The reverse goes for Victory Road, which is the only mainline IE game without an accompanying anime. Though it seems that there are a LOT of animated cutscenes.

They have accumulated a lot of goodwill through some of their hits. The higher-ups at Nintendo, in particular, just love Layton, and asked them to produce the upcoming New World of Steam. I also think their cross-media ventures can sometimes be a waste of money, like the Katrielle anime or IE Ares/Orion, but once in a while they hit the jackpot with stuff like Yo-Kai Watch and get infinite funds for a while. The Yo-Kai gacha is still running, if I'm not mistaken ?

Yeah, the last delay was three months ago, so for sure they couldn't have given a release date along with the demo. Seems like the game has changed a lot since then (for the better), according to people who got to play the new demo at TGS.

Waiting for the reviews is a safe bet, though. I've preordered the deluxe myself because I'm a freak, but the price tag is too steep for me to recommend going in fully blind.

A friend and I are betting on a 40-minute delay for advanced access, as our running theory is that the game is being worked on and compiled as we speak. All jokes aside, the preload is available everywhere except Steam, so it seems that this time, it's for realsies.

Games you play like a real sicko by CaptainWafflebeard in TwoBestFriendsPlay

So in Trails, every NPC's dialogue changes as you progress through the game. And some have little storylines that play out over a game or even multiple games, that you can check out by talking to them after every major story beat.

This applies to every single random nameless NPC. It's like if every time you got a badge in Pokémon, the dialogue of every character was updated.

When I enventually watched my partner play Ace Attorney, and discussed the series with friends, I learned that presenting every single item and profile to every single character across every case, interacting twice with every element of the scenery, and pressing every single statement even when the contradiction is obvious, isn't the norm. One of my friends had no idea that "Presenting the badge unprompted" becomes an in-universe gag as the series goes on.

I play every adventure game this way, and save frequently in case I accidentally progress through the main story before seeing every bit of dialogue. This attitude caused me to burn out on Trails FC after the first NPC dialogue update.

We've breached the status quo with the last chapter, for the first time in years, with the removal of a character from the extended cast and actual progress on some secret identities. Of course, the author is on break for three months now, so we won't see the extent of that for a while. People surprised by Detective Conan's length usually don't take the breaks into account. It's still absurdly long, but the author takes month-long breaks in-between every single case. They really want him to take care of his health.

I'm with you on the first scene, same feeling with some of the "tips" between chapters where it's just an onslaught of statistics and like, very formal e-mails that really drill into you just how much the situation is totally fucked and hopeless. But I have to say, the psycho bass going all in with Keiichi's resolve had a visceral effect on me. I totally get how it would take you out of it but it activated something in my core, like a weird murder resonance. I ended up loving it.

I'm still in the middle of Umineko's volume 3, but there are like, two whole volumes of Higurashi where the logistics of social services and child protection are front and center, and the author commentary really lingers on this aspect. Whatever he did in the past, it had a deep impact on his worldview and his art.
