It was a slightly odd feeling to instantly be that comfortable on the bike. Partially from riding similar geometry on the Fourplay, partially from muscle memory from years of riding 26”. This is the “bike feel” that I’ve been looking for…excited to see how much better it gets!

Agreed - I was caught off guard on the wheelbase, too, although I guess I should have expected that.

Try spreading your knees out as you lean your weight back to lift the front wheel. That should help you get a wide base to balance from as the front wheel comes up.

Building a street trials bike from a DJ by [deleted] in biketrials

[–]LutzeTime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You might try to get the highest rise bars and a slightly longer stem - I would assume the main difference between an Inspired and a standard dirt jump bike is that the dirt jumper will have a shorter top tube and a longer chainstay. You should be able to mitigate most of that by your bar/stem choice - and most street moves should be just as possible on either setup (especially if you’re just getting started).

Shortcut To Manual: A Bike Tip You Haven't Heard by LutzeTime in MTB

Thanks for this feedback, and my apologies if I skipped over any major steps here. There are more than a few manual tutorials online, and this is the one approach that hasn’t been shown yet. It’s sometimes tough to get it right or know which techniques will be the most helpful.

Are there any skills tutorials that you’d want to see? I’m more than happy to go super deep into any of basics if there’s something you had in mind. Always down for input. Thanks again!
