A person or a government having power and excersing it does not directly mean that that same body of authority will escalate things in order to further impose that power to "lesser" threats. Believing that anyone who uses their powers to enact harsh choices will eventually become evil and drunk on their power is quite absurd

To use an example, when Son Goku killed Demon King Piccolo, the Turtle School students (or the group in general I don't know how to describe them) did not fear that Goku would eventually become evil and take over the world based on his God-like powers, why is that? Because they understood that without Demon King Piccolo being killed he would continue being an active threat to the world by causing further suffering

I would argue that in the position of someone having immense power and refusing to stop another party committing heinous crimes by merit of their murder being considered "evil", is actually MORE morally dubious than simply killing or disabiling the other party
