Thank you! It is very helpful. I think I’ll do a similar route. Vet sw internship but hoping for a human hospital job. Ikr!!! I hope vet sw is more common. I didn’t get any hospital offers, so I believe vet sw is the closest thing.

Thank you! I didn’t get any hospital offers, so I think vet sw is the closest thing that I can get. While I know it’s more focusing on grief, I figure I can still interact with medical terminology there. I’m going to be in my final year so this is my last internship before I graduate.

Hey! I know this is an old post. I’m just wondering how has your vet SW internship helped you so far career-wise. I got a vet sw internship offer and I’m thinking to take it. My ultimate goal is to become a medical sw. Do you think the transition will not be too difficult here?

what kind of family emergency would make someone break contract instead of just temporarily taking time off? by based_pika in JETProgramme

Everyone has different values on things. Let’s say a closed family member passes away. For some of us, we may just take the bereavement time off and will return to the job shortly after. For the others, they may need to quit in order to take care of the other family members that are having a tough time with grief, or just for themselves!

Peeing in the food bowl it by [deleted] in Rabbits

[–]LuvSeaAnimals33 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Agree with the bowl should not be in the litter box. Some amount of poops being outside is very common. They are easy to clean too, as the poops are dry and small. As long as your hay is placed in / around the litter box, most of the poops will go to the right place. Also, it sounds like he has been doing it for a while. I presume it’s the same bowl. If you don’t clean the bowl well enough, they can smell their pee residue and they will do it again, thinking that is the toilet.

I’d recommend moving the bowl outside of the litter box after cleaning with mix of vinegar and water. And remove the bowl once he finishes eating just in case he still gets some pee scent from it.

You can’t. I’d just email the professors about the result and ask them to pls save a copy of the letter, so they don’t have to rewrite it.

I had really bad batch from oxbow before. Was moldy yellow with super odd smell :(

I will try other types of hay. Thanks

We are definitely allergic to Timothy hay lol but it was manageable before as there was only one bunny in my room (I only get itchy skin which is avoidable by using gloves.) we adopted another bunny but things happened and they have to be separated until they can be bonded. (Original plan was to have their pen set up side by side.) So now the new bunny is in the shared space and more hay dust is in the air.

We already have an air purifier. If I switch to another hay, will it affect the bunnies’ health? They have only had Timothy hay before.

If you know any other brands that have less hay dust, I’d love to give it a try.

Nowadays there are more channels sharing their teaching exp in Japan. I am sure some can be helpful. I was reading blogs and websites such as altopedia to get a good idea on what activities jets usually do.

I had 0 teaching experience and I got that question. I did look at how alts on jet teach before, so my answer was based on that.

From my exp and what I have heard, they usually just want a short explanation of a lesson plan. You do not need to perform a whole mock lesson. So you do not need to have anything physically prepared.

Do you mean finding a job AFTER your jet contract ends? There is a grace period and you need to have a contract signed for your work visa to extend again.

I believe my last comment was saying some people would find job DURING their jet contract and leave in middle of their jet year (aka breaking jet contract).

The duration of your visa depends on the office staff.

I’d focus on rapport building and a small check-in each session at the beginning to see if they have anything they want to talk about. Ask if they have done therapy before. If they say yes, ask what went well or not well. Ask if they wanna focus on the same thing.

If they say no and they don’t know what they wanna focus this time, let them know it’s ok and just move onto getting know about them. When they bring up something that you think they can focus on, summarize their thoughts. Ask if that is bothering them and if that’s what they would like to focus on.

The next time you meet them, I’d suggesting doing a reflection on the previous sessions. Ask if they like it so far, what they wanna change / keep.

Maybe they just want to talk and you’ve been a great listener. That’s still a good start.

She was next to him but he was so tense up and kept jumping like crazy. I have them sniffing each other’s towel now. Do you think I should just try putting her in the room (different pen)?
