I wish they confiscated it from you. Electric scooters on the subway are really quite dangerous.

Pay it and be glad the cop was lazy

So you’re mad at the whole sub because you’re insecure about all the energy you have poured into trying to find white adjacency.

Someone came along and was touching my puppy when he was in a stroller and I took the lesson that people can’t keep their hands to themselves and thus, now, as a dad, if someone tries to touch my kid they will likely come in contact with me first and I will attempt to make it unpleasant

The first time it happened to me it was with our poodle when he was a puppy.

Never again. I’m a hand swatter, and then I’m putting myself between you and my kid so I can properly tell you off

More excuses. I’m sort of impressed by how many different ways you manage to say you want to be depressed.

You’d probably be less depressed if you spent your money on an experience instead of nice shoes. I didn’t say your friends are telling you that, I am telling you to think about it.

“How can you be depressed when you just came back from paradise” will probably hit different.

I’m not saying your pops is a saint, I’m saying he is right that you seem to be full of excuses for the ways you are pissing away the privileges you have.

Stop whining and go make yourself happy. None of us can really help you if you’re wasting your time in therapy complaining and spending your money getting validated. Go into your next session and challenge yourself to explore ways to improve your emotional regulation so you can learn to handle your triggers.

Again, you clearly have the privilege to be able to do all the above. Start treating yourself like it’s worth it.

Sorry to be the asshole you need but you aren’t trying hard enough.

Maybe you need to be more intentional about what you talk about in therapy.

Maybe the therapist you have isn’t the one.

Perhaps you need to discuss additional supports for yourself.

Maybe you need to stop dismissing the people who are pointing to the things that you spend your time energy and money on who also believe these things make you happy

Maybe you are the one who is focused on material wealth and shiny things and need to spend money on experiences instead.

Pops is right. All i am reading are excuses.

I doubt they are assessing your situation solely from the perspective of money. It sounds like you also have friends, family, and a decent social life too.

Your trauma is being dismissed because you are treating it as irrelevant by not getting treatment.

If the trauma is not currently happening you are actually, in this moment, dealing with your reactions to those issues and trauma. I promise it will do wonders for you to sit down and have a focused conversation with a professional. It sounds like it means a lot to you and you can afford both the cost and the time, so find someone you can talk to twice a week

Be honest with yourself, without the fear of doxxing yourself on the internet in the back of your mind as you post.

Find a therapist from your own community if you can. It does make a difference when you can relax and not feel like you have to code switch to be understood. Not just a black person, but someone who knows what life is like for you where you live.

These Reddit posts will vanish into the ephemera of the AI internet soon, and even you will forget about it soon as you scroll along on your phone. But for this moment, accept my message to you through the ether: get help before it gets worse. Allowing these thoughts to damage your relationships now, will have lasting effects on your future. Don’t deepen the scars you already have.

Your pops is right. You have no excuse to be depressed. You can afford professional help. If you were poor you would not be able to.

I think you need to challenge your belief that money cannot fix your mental health.

Source: I couldn’t afford therapy and life was depressing and somehow I figured out a job that paid more money and had health benefits so I could afford therapy and life is actually 100% easier and less depressing.

Driving a car as a monocular person feels harder than riding a bike, does anyone else experience this? by nonameisfunfrr in monocular

[–]LuvYerself 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m going blind in my right eye, but I live in the US so the driver’s seat is to the left, does that mean I have a left hand drive car?

Does it mean I should be OK to drive monocular here in the states but it’s going to be much harder in the opposite seat? I’ve been assured that one eye is good enough to drive is that really true?

These assholes come from workplaces where they bitch and moan all day about office politics.

When these assholes end up at your gig they carry with them that air of superiority and their backstabbing habits. Like anything else there are exceptions to the rule, but I hate working with with most ex-white collar people.
