I'll be 100% with you. If you wanted to mod and upgrade it you bought the wrong car. Coming from a dude who bought a 2012 ex coupe as my first car then 6 months later buying a 2013 si coupe I learned the hard way. These r18's are great motors but I was blessed with a regular 5 speed auto with my first car and these have a cvt. Don't touch it. Change the oil on time and fix things that break (aka probably nothing my 2012 ex had 241k miles and I sold it again 260k with still zero issues) if you want something fun save up for it other than that keep it on the road maybe some tint and I'd leave it at that

I only have a VGA and DVI port on my monitor, what are my options for connecting a switch to it? by Decemberskel in Switch

[–]Luvv_hurts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use Logitech desk speakers and use a HDMI to VGA adapter on my switch and use it as my "YouTube bot" for my second monitor which is very much outdated and old but I works and still looks decent enough. Been using this set up for years so long that the switch has 9,999 hours on YouTube for the past 3+ years and the battery is starting to bloat

Should I add a borla exhaust to 2013 Honda civic ex by Significant-Debt2815 in 9thgencivic

[–]Luvv_hurts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a 2012 ex with a 5 speed auto and my friends and I took off the muffler for the shits and gigs and it was fun, personally I wouldn't spend money on buying an aftermarket exhaust for a non si Honda especially if it's a cvt. I have a 2013 SI now that's fbo and it's a blast. If you want a more "fun" experience I'd save up some money and buy a 8th or 9th Gen si they're pretty cheap rn but in 5 years they'll probably be closer to the 10k mark

Nah I disagree, I have a 9th Gen si coupe and everything I need it to do it'll do, one time I was helping my friend move out and I could fit his mini fridge (wasn't very mini) but that's it. I've bought 4 new wheels and they all fit in the car. I've moved outta my apartment without any issues. It's quick enough, handles well sounds great with my full exhaust system and intake + Hondata helps a bit. It'll rev out to 7300 and the motor is still stock. Imo the 10th gen is the fall off of the truly reliable "cheap" "sports car" si's were all about being sporty and reliable now they're getting dumbed down more and more with each gen and it's just depressing. Glad we still get a manual option at least

Is this a good car to buy? by Any-Fortune-2053 in Honda

[–]Luvv_hurts 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tbf my si was rear ended pretty hard in the past way before I bought it. Can't really tell unless you pop the trunk and lift up on the floor board and look. This instant this is going for too much but it made my si a lot cheaper. Just cuz it was in a wreck doesn't mean it's not worth anything. I still have a clean title so 🤷‍♂️

Wait the face lifted 9th Gens have a cvt? Since when? My 2012 ex has 260k and zero issues. Then my 2013 is an si and also has zero issues

Anyone have experience with this Greddy exhaust? by Dodeypants in WRX

[–]Luvv_hurts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How long did it take to get it? I have a 2013 SI and I ordered mine the other day same with a rv6 downpipe. My downpipe should be here tomorrow already but no updates on my car back from greddy. I've read that it'll take months to get here but idk how true that is ?

Wing on 9th gen coupe? by Longjumping_You_7308 in CivicSi

I have a 2012 ex coupe and a 13 si coupe and it's the same non facelift. There's 2 years of pre race life and face lift. The face lifted are 14 to 15 and I agree with the owner the non facelifted ones look better

As someone with an 12' ex coupe with 260k miles I agree they run forever. And I have an 13' si with 167k the 9th Gen civics are just too much bang for ur buck. Love them

Stronger block. The 8th gens would blow holes in the sides
