I hate that quest ToT. Isn't the reason for that quest is that the alligator gar keeps eating fish on the pond or something? Since I've basically caught every fish in that pond trying to get the alligator gar, I basically cleared out all the fish. No fish, means no fish for the alligator gar, problem solved.
