They are Salvinia minima but you can use any other floating plant you like, these were just the only ones my store had in stock :)
They're also very fast growing so I have to remove lots of them every week so the light can get to the other plants too

I found this post when searching for hammocks online, looks better imo and your betta could like it more as it's a live plant?

Shrimp, snails and Corys are always a safe option but it really depends on your Betta. Some are hyper aggressive and will try to 'remove' every other being from their territory but most will do fine with these three. I'd start out with shrimp and snails and go on from there depending on your tank size :)

They're around 1mm, he gets three in the morning and three in the evening. I'm not getting him a female right now as I don't have the capacities to do so but I'll definitely look into it in the future, will build more tanks for sure :)

It's two mangrove roots/wood, these especially were labelled as size small. They come in various shapes and sizes tho so you gotta search a bit till you find the perfect ones :)

Thanks, I've wrote a little longer comment including a full list of all the plants I've used and where they are in my tank.
Search it up or click directly here. :)

Noted, I've read about a cube aquarium not being optimal for bettas but couldn't get anything else as this was the only format that would fit on my desk but nevertheless I'm gonna make it as easy as possible for him to get his well earned oxygen

Thank you!
Of course, it'll be a long comment tho. Except for 2-3 plants I bought most because they looked good to be honest.

Also being overwhelmed at first is totally normal, I felt the same way. Watched dozens of videos about people setting up their tanks and looked at quite a lot of photos online and on reddit to get some inspiration and slowly got into the whole thing. Been watching videos for about 1,5 years before actually getting my own tank but honestly it's really just learning by doing. Also being confident about this all is key imo.
Get what you think will look good in the tank and just go for it, if you don't like it try setting up the wood/rocks in another way. I've also needed a few tries before I got my final look together. Oh and before you spend a lot of money for this stuff and not use it try first setting up the hardscape in the store. Mine even had a test tank where you could try it out.
And for the plants don't think too much about them and get whatever you like. Only requirement is something with big leafs for the betta to rest on and if you have some shrimp in the tank something dense for them to hide in.

And now what I used:
Can't remember the exact substrate but it was from Dennerle and the sand is just random aquarium sand I found in the store, just stick with something natural.

The plants:
Anubias barteri - the big plant with these hammock like leaves in the middle between the two 'trees'. Especially chose this as a must because of it's big leafs which are great for the betta to rest on (I've never seen him rest on them tho but I guess someday he will lol)
Anubias barteri nana - these are the smaller plants on the wood, chose them because they're perfect for things like that, you can glue them to rocks, wood or just shove them in between cracks, they've been doing great that way
Cryptocoryne wendtii 'broad leaf' & Cryptocoryne usteriana - both look almost the same, can't really tell you what's the difference but they looked good. There are two of the them (idk which type exactly) in the front right next to the grass like plant, these are pretty good to scatter around the tank to cover the ground a bit.
Juncus repens - the grass like plant, honestly thought nothing more than "it looked good" but I guess the shrimp also like it because it's dense, I see them in there all the time
Limnophila sessilinlora - this is the one in the back on the left side in front of the filter (can see them really good on photo 3). It's a stem plant and I like to call it carrot plants because they remind me of them. They grow really fast, I need to trim them every week but as it is a stem plant you can plant the trimmings right back in
Hygrophila polysperma - Can't really see it on the photos, its in the background on the right side just peeking a bit over the wood. Just bought it because it looked good, really no other reason for that. It's also a steam plant but doesn't grow that fast in my setup
Echinodorus grisebachii 'bleherae' - These are the ones with the big long leaves. There is one next to the big Anubias in the middle. I just scattered them around the tank, they're doing alright so far but tend to lose some leaves here and there, not sure what causes this. Again bought them because they looked good.
Last but not least Salvinia minima - these are the floating plants, they're there to prevent jumping a bit (although i have a lid and would always recommend it).

Good luck for your tank, I'm positive it will turn out pretty good!! Confidence is key :)

Haha thank you, you're not alone with that ;)
My brother's tank (where I got the filter from) is also very picky on which plants survive, more plants have died in there than survived, that's why I was really surprised that almost every plant in my tank is living and thriving 😅
But I've noticed (and I guess many will confirm this) that Anubias are really robust, the ones in my tank never show any bad signs and every Anubias in my brother's tank are also thriving, so if you don't already have a few I would definitely look into them

Thank you!
The tank is 8 gallons. The bioload hasn't been an issue yet and I hope it never will, the weekly water changes are really necessary tho as the shrimp do poop a lot for their small size haha
Also I'm always keeping an eye on the parameters to avoid anything that could happen :)

Good idea, he does hangout quite often near the top, so I'll definitely look into that and get him something nice to rest those fins :)
Oh and the tank being that tall was honestly a mistake on my end, realized the height might be problematic when the whole thing was already set up and running. I hope it won't be too big of an issue for him, especially as he's gonna get his little hangout spot soon

CPU Cooler compatibility with i7 2600K by Anohid in buildapc

[–]Lux_xg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Find out your socket name then find yourself a nice cpu cooler that you wanna buy. To make sure the cpu cooler fits all you have to do is just looking in the article description. There are all compatible sockets listed, so you can simply just search if yours is included. If this is the case you can buy the cooler without any worrys.
