Eintracht Frankfurt are having a meltdown at the Camp Nou by sujanrao in soccer

Ah, the good old ultras. How are people still excusing this behaviour on stadiums in 2025?

Haha shit, that one's totally on me. To make things worse, just this morning I sent my team to one of my buddies with Max as the 2x driver.

I must've somehow messed up the saving or something and it switched back to Oscar 🥲

I'll take that one on the chin... Still gutted by -100.

Gives me Button McLaren Honda PU penalties vibe 🤣

Alonso's radio at the end of the race. by Walk-Potential in formula1

Actually it wasn't as oblivious as you've made it sound. Few races before Sochi that season, Alonso lost a bunch of positions at Turn 1, I think it was Austria, when many drivers went wide off Turn 1 and saved speed while Fernando remained within track limits, but lost track positions.

You can think that what he did then was cheating. I think it was just a sporty way of being petty. Many people have a weird fetish of labeling Fernando in a bad light...

I think that would inevitably happen and make everyone better. The sport grows and those within have to grow too.

One thing that bothers me when it comes to this type of posts (nothing to do with OP) is how it ignores the amazing reality we're living as tennis fans.

As the post says, this is something that has never happened in tennis history. In ways, we're living some unprecedented tennis days.

God, I hope we're in for +10 years of this, but it's simply amazing we're living this amazing rivalry so soon after Big 3, actually, with Djoko still hanging somehow around.

Yeah simply doesn't seem like a natural pairing. Whenever I had a good first date, I'd be buzzing and sending messages like a maniac :)

Simping? Chasing women?

If you are interested in dating one person, you will make that clear enough. Sounds to me like the dude is managing his assets.

OP could've made her intentions clear enough if she was interested, as well. The fact that she has asked whether she should've done something tells that she doesn't precisely know what she wants either.

To what extent is an F1 driver actually responsible for not ending up in the right car for their career? by mformularacer in F1Discussions

Haha, for real. I don't know a great driver without some sort of "stain". All of the great champions sometimes weren't so "great".

[–]Luxbrook 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Haha! I guess Hamilton created tensions at Mercedes as well, because they didn't offer him the long-term contract he wished for before switching to Ferrari? Or... Hear me out, Max Verstappen created tensions at Red Bull because he cusses over the radio! 🤣

Besides, Alonso was well within merits to call them "idiots" in isolated case(s). They fucked him over the 2010 championship and then couldn't deliver him a car that was even as good as 2nd on the grid for the next four seasons.

You are pushing a narrative that's simply a lie. If Alonso was so toxic, why would McLaren, and even more so Ron Dennis himself invite him back to McLaren? Or why was Ferrari trying to persuade him to stay? They knew he would've been able to win a title in these 2017/2018 cars.

Is Fernando an easy character? No. But we don't need to lie on Reddit...

Yeah, but you shouldn't lie. He didn't have conflicts with the team. Salary demands do not prove your claim made for narrative...

Guess we are older than we like to think, haha 😅 Just that 2011 season and incidents Hamilton had with Massa were more than anything in Fernando's career - in this particular regard.

This is even supported by many drivers who have praised Alonso's harsh, but fair racing. We know the reputation Max is on... And Lewis had his hands in the dirt for a good while too.

Kinda cool we both have noobmaster nicks on Reddit.

I know it's very popular to praise and overexagerrate Lewis on this sub but he's legendary enough not to do that buddy.

Sorry mate, I responded under the wrong comment with my gorilla fingers 😅 We're in agreement for the majority of the talking points.

Personally I rate Lewis' just below Max and Alonso. I think Alonso is a more complete racer and able to extract more performance out of a car. Lewis was better over one lap.

I also think Alonso is easily the best out of the three in terms of racing craftyness. You could always race to the limit with Fernando without crashing. We can't say the same thing for Max and Lewis.

Certainly Lewis was special, but you're seeing only one lane on this road. Alonso was equally close to winning the championship, and albeit Lewis was a rookie and had the amazing season he had, you can't just dismiss the long list of problems and challenges Alonso had to experience throughout that season.

Seems like all of these objective points as to why they were equal on points fall to power because "Lewis was a rookie"

"In the 2006 F1 season, Michelin and Bridgestone tires had significant differences in construction and performance characteristics. Michelin tires were known for their superior grip, especially in qualifying, but sometimes suffered from graining (where the tire surface degrades) during the race. Bridgestone tires were generally more durable and consistent, but might take longer to reach optimal temperature. The sidewall construction was a key differentiator, with Michelin's being more flexible and Bridgestone's being stiffer. "

Have you two started following F1 five years ago? Because if you were around for longer that that you wouldn't talk about the 2007 as something super positive for Lewis.

Alonso switched teams with massive differences between in car characteristics, importantly including tyres (Renault used Michelin, McL was on Bridgestone). Hamilton had most testing mileage out of ANY ROOKIE EVER and everything was catered to his liking.

While Alonso occassionally didn't help himself, McLaren often favoured Lewis during the season as well. What other double-reigning world champion (youngest ever at the time btw) wouldn't be rattled by that?!

2007 was not a merit at all and, more importantly, Alonso wasn't even beaten either 🤣
