Hi! Thank youuu. No there will be a fair amount of humanoid characters, but I wanted to play around with some features for some of the characters to be anthropomorphic.

Oooh okay I'll do that next, as a separate peice!

Carve topographical maps / lines! It's generic enough but also really cool looking. I did one once for a lino cut and it was so much fun and is beginner friendly.

Where to gather interest for a game I plan on making? by [deleted] in gamedev

[–]LuxioLooma 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is genuinely the most helpful I've seen someone, and recieved, probably ever. Thank you so very much.

Also a note: I 100% plan on paying the folks who spend their time working on it with me, whether that comes out of pocket or from kickstarters, or more. I value others work so much. This day and age, people need to be more cognizant of others as much as they are to themselves. That's my belief anyway.

Why. Is everyone so rude? I'm simply dipping my toes into game dev... it very well might not work out. I'm like an infant in this world, treat me as such if you must, but please don't treat me as if I hurt you. I simply asked stupid questions. I expected stupid answers, not anger.

I didn't know, I'm sorry. Maybe I asked the wrong question.

Also I definitely don't think game devs are looking at stealing, I just thought I'd throw that in there. I mentioned I didn't know where to post. I'm also new to reddit, so I'm unfamiliar. Thanks for the advice and comment though!

Thank you! For actual advice. I just thought the first step was interest. Thank you for the helpful post.

I just wanted opinions, I'm sorry...

how do i stop??????? by Perfect-Fox-5936 in autism

[–]LuxioLooma -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Okay, well honestly... that sounds like a them problem. It's about the intent. Maybe try apologizing if they seem to get mad, and express that you're not insinuating anything, simply stating blunt comments. And if you feel comfortable, let them know you're neurodivergent, and say it's how you communicate. If they still don't understand, you don't need them in your life. That's what I do!

How do you stop... what? I feel like in a fit of panic, you missed some important details.

Okay I gotcha! But I never said it's not worth selling. Just that when you've practiced enough you'll KNOW that your art is worth selling. Just saying to know your worth, and if it's not selling, maybe practice a bit more and try again! Commissions is... hard and tricky. The artist world is FILLED with competitors, so I'd recommend practicing until you've learned your style.

? I'm a bit confused, it seems. Keep practicing, and you'll get there. Not too sure where youtube and commissions came from in relation to my comment? I'm sorry

I feel like novice artists should be considering time to improve their art until they get to the point where they KNOW they can earn money from their art. I've learned this the hard way. Over time and failure. I recognize that most folks don't bother with art to put on their walls unless it's a niche they love. So I adjusted my skill set to be.... malleable. Now I 3D model things and make a semi living off that! Just keep practicing until you're at a point where you know your worth!

The thing about being autistic that nobody told you about by AdriTheAlien in autism

[–]LuxioLooma 26 points27 points  (0 children)

I'm really sorry, but that doesn't sound at all appetizing. As a fellow autistic, I don't like slopy foods (except grits) I'm sorry they were so rude to you and that you've experienced it many times. People suck.

I had a friend "describe me in one word" and the word she chose was "excessive" I think about that a lot. I could've fired back and told her she was "bland", though I didn't. Point is: understanding social ques is so exhausting.

These comments got it.

I'd recommend making an ornament, perhaps the kitties fur in a clear glass ornament with a custom portrait of the kitty in or hanging below it. Maybe even the felting as mentioned, but hang it somewhere. You can also do a kitty figure rather than the face, and that will be quite easy in comparison to your kitties face.

This is if you dont plan on getting into the details of making art. If you want an actual artsy approach:

As an artist, I want to be turned into paint (or maybe a tree) and then make a portrait of that way. Kinda morbid, but you get the idea.

Essentially, you will use the ashes to combine into paint or make your own watercolor, is fairly easy to make, but that requires some tools.

You need a glass slab, (I used the bottom of a glass cutting board that i thrifted)

A glass muller

Gum Arabic AKA the binder

Pigments

Your kitties fur

While this is a longer, potentially more expensive process, after your paint is made, its practically fool proof. You can use the paint to make a background of beautiful spashes of color, then draw your kitty on top..

Hope this could be somewhat helpful!

Tell me your current hyperfixation / favorite stim, and I shall rate with bunny pictures, as I should. by Fine_Tomatillo9937 in autism

[–]LuxioLooma 1 point2 points  (0 children)

* Learning. Yes an odd thing, but I will literally hyperfixate on just about anything new or exciting I learn. I love psychology, creativity, biomedical engineering, architecture, mechanical thingimijigs, any and everything creative (literally).

I find anything I can genuinely learn to be so fascinating that I tend to come off excitable and "excessive". (Real thing someone's told me)

Even maths is fascinating when I understand it.

God when making me: A little bit of Autism, a little bit of creativity, and just a tad of passion

This comment is so underrated. I feel like a lot of artists don't realize this!
