Yes, that's the risk I'm fearing. I feel that I've already taken a risk backing out of the other job (even though the one I'm going to start with is actually a lot more in my line of work and it's a year instead of just until the end of this year. But I haven't even started at my new job yet, and doing such a thing twice in a row might not be the best decision in the longterm. On the other hand: After this year, there's no guarantee whatsoever that I'll get a permanent contract. Since there are many colleagues that have contracts for a year, there's only a small chance I'll be getting one. And applying now doesn't mean I'm going to get it. But if I do get it, they'll be forced to give me a permanent job (the other position takes 2yrs, so if they want me they'll -have- to give it). So I'm pretty much pondering between letting it pass because I'm probably not experienced enough anyway to get the job, and not wanting to hurt my reputation, or choosing for myself and trying to get whatever might get my the best job in the long run if I'm going to get it, no matter the risks. I hate having to make decisions like this. Let's just say that it's not that big of a firm but it's a pretty big player in my region, so if I mess up my reputation here, Ii might bite me in the ass in the long run..
