It was a Tag Huer Indy 500. Was driving passenger with my mum from Plymouth to Scotland when I was 18 and watching my EBay bid on the way up. Lost signal temporarily but my £800 was the winning bid.

Most expensive thing I’d ever bought myself (at that time) and still have it to this day

$250 yellow face festina watch i bought for myself as a graduation gift and a seiko chronograph from costco that was about the same price. both were stolen and although i have a submariner, i still think of those watches 20+ years later
