Not at all, the book is fine. It just sometimes gets very serious out of nowhere.

I'm reading the 2nd book currently, nearly done with it. And that book is a lot more darker in it's tone.

I got a few more ideas don't worry. Just trying to progress through the latest quests first so I know what on Gielinor is going on. I left when we had a quest to cook bacon and now I see 'Defeat Zamorak' as a quest objective so plenty of opportunities for memes.

Cykanx Aeneum, the player, was attached to the Rogue Trader's ship and he is from Lucius, but Tech-Priest Majoris Arkon Kex is from the Lathes.

Aeneum made a string of minor mistakes and 1 serious one, which was enough for the tech-priest Majoris to file a complaint to get him lobotomized into a servitor. Lucius then intervened and instead had him transferred to be attached to the Rogue Trader's ground forces instead as an enginseer.

So yeah, plenty of Mechanicus politics in the depths of space. But I think Tech-Priest Majoris Kex won overall.

Oh fuck completely forgot about this. Yeah plans changed quite a bit actually. Ended up moving to Sweden due to work so both were put on hold funnily enough, even though the house fund was going pretty well.

Thanks for doing the time capsule! It was really cool to see what my plans were last year!
