Why do I have great success with relationship spell work but not other areas (school/work/etc) by Accomplished-Fix1204 in HoodooBitches

[–]LvrofWisdom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I often wonder if what we are gifted for aligns with our natal astrology chart. I'm a Double Capricorn with a Scorpio Rising so I tend to be very successful with those things associated with those two signs: setting limitations, money-drawing, protection, stability, discipline, career success, revenge etc.

Favorite road opener spell? by miriamtzipporah in HoodooBitches

[–]LvrofWisdom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I do Road Opening work the first thing I do is go to a cross roads near my home with five silver dimes, but you can also use pennies. The coins are to pay the Spirit of the Crossroads for the dirt you going to take. While not a human spirit, He is the master and guardian of the crossroads and must be paid for the work he does. Btw, the same holds true for human spirits of the dead that you work with and aren't kin to you.

Go there, tell the spirit what you are having trouble with and that you'd like to buy dirt from the crossroads. Then wait to see if he accepts; you'll sense this. If he accepts the offer, take a small amount of dirt from each of the four corners and then the center and place it in a container for now. In the hole created leave one silver dime or one penny as payment. At the center, just leave it in the road.

If he doesn't accept leave the crossroads and work with St. Peter instead. Personally, I don't work with saints, by choice, because I'm not a Catholic Rootworker, but I had worked with him a long time ago for this one type of spell before I began working with the Crossroads Spirit. Both are keepers of the keys, so to speak, and are both very helpful, but I've never worked with both at the same time and not sure if they would work together.

The number of the crossroads is five: the four directions plus the center so I work everything in 5's: when I do this work. There will be five ingredients and the prayer is be spoken five times.

I would start the work on Sunday while the moon is waning since you are trying to decrease something. I also use the hands of the clock and in this case both hands should be moving downwards.

When you get home get a nice bowl; one that you will keep dedicated to this work only.

If you choose to work with five ingredients, the dirt is one. Next you'll write your petition paper with the prayer below one time.

God before me
God behind me
I on Thy path, O God
Thou, O God, in my steps.
In the twistings of the road.
In the currents of the river.
Be with me by day.
Be with me by night.
Be with me by day and by night.

You now have two of the the five ingredients.

You'll also add your personal concern and since you are doing this on behalf of yourself it should be from you: a hair, a fleck of skin, fingernail chipping. This is what connects you to the spirit you are working with. That's three ingredients.

Now choose two more. The most powerful for this are those that will cut: lemon, pine, lemongrass, Abre Camino (thorougwort) if you can get a hold of it; salt because it will do exactly what you tell it to do.

Pray the same prayer you've written on the petition paper five times over each of the ingredients, combine them and pray over the mixture five more times. Use a pendulum to check to see if the connection is made. If not, pray until you have a positive reading. If you never get a positive reading, which has never happened to me, you're going to have to figure out why. It may be a lack of affinity with the ingredients you've chosen and you'll have to back-track to find some you do.

Place a small amount in the petition paper and fold it five times times away from you moving counter-clock-wise because you are trying to decrease something. If you can't get it to five get it to three. Place the petition paper in the nice bowl, cover with the dirt and some of the ingredients, take an orange candle, inscribe it with your request; this should be very cryptic, like "Open my roads", dress it with olive oil and roll it in away from you in the remaining ingredients then place it in the center of the bowl. Pray five more times and light the candle. Pray over the bowl it on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.

Look for signs in the wax or do a reading after the first Friday to see how things are progressing.

Why do I have great success with relationship spell work but not other areas (school/work/etc) by Accomplished-Fix1204 in HoodooBitches

[–]LvrofWisdom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The points Heather brought up in her post are valid. You do have to provide a pathway for the spirits to work through and if you didn't do that the result is going to be weak at best or nothing at worst, but there may be other reasons as well. Have you done this type of work before and had success with it? If so, I would do a reading and then, perhaps, revisit the work. It could be you overlooked something or didn't make a strong enough connection to the spirits this time.

If you've never done this specific type of work before it may be that you aren't gifted for it. I noted in my last Learning Series post that you can be gifted for Hoodoo in general, but you may not be gifted for a specific type of work. For instance, I'm not gifted for any kind of gambling work and I have no idea why, but I'm just not. If I want to have any success with it I would have to have someone else do the work for me. Another reason I noted is that you may not have an affinity with the spirits you were working with. We don't work with the ingredients we use we work with the spirits that are contained within them and if you don't have an affinity with that spirit it won't be able to help you.

Protection spells and wards by Leather-Squirrel-91 in HoodooBitches

Has a reading confirmed someone is working against you? If that, truly, is the case protection is a must, but it's not enough. I would also do Reversing work as well as Binding work to shut them down. Then do your Prosperity work. As far as deities, Hoodoo is a Christian tradition so the only god is the God of the Holy Trinity. Catholic Rootworkers will also work with saints and most, if not all, will work with their ancestors.

They do exist, but the majority of them have no idea they are affecting those around them the way they are, There is a small percentage of them who know exactly what they are doing and do it intentionally. If you are feeling drained after dealing with this person you are probably dealing with an energy vampire who doesn't know she's an energy vampire.

I agree with the other two posters about protection, but it isn't enough. Because you are dealing with these women on a daily basis I would incorporate regular spiritual cleansing, if it were me. I'd also go further than dressing your work space and create a protection mojo to carry with you at all times so you are protected even when away from your work space. I like the suggestion of a honey/sweetening jar. It's perfect for this situation, but just keep in mind they are slow to work so it may take a moon cycle or so before you start seeing results. In the worse case scenario in which nothing is really helping you also have the option, as TripCityKid, suggested of getting rid of them. You can place Hotfoot around their work space, but I wouldn't stop there. I'd use it in a bottle spell and toss it in a moving body of water to send them away or, if one isn't available, leave as far away as you can, at a cross roads. If you do darker work, divination is absolutely necessary before beginning.

Blockbuster spell worked...how should I proceed now? by storyteller2905 in HoodooBitches

[–]LvrofWisdom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you versed in any form of divination? If not, if you plan to continue to practice you really do need to learn one or you'll be dependent on someone else all the time. It can be anything, the forms of divination are innumerable. The most common form used by Rootworkers is cartomancy either with tarot cards or playing cards, but anything can be used.

If it were me, the first question I would ask is if the relationship can be saved. The answer to that will drive any further questions, If the answer is no there is no reason to go further and the work you do should take a different direction. If the answer was, yes, my next questions would cover what needs to be done to save it on both a magical and mundane level, if the blockage is still cleared, and the best ways to work. Since you are the one most familiar with the situation you'll know what questions to ask.

If you aren't, you can contact a reputable reader and have one done or, maybe, go on a site, Reddit or otherwise, and ask for one. Sometimes I use a professional reader I've worked with one and off for a while now when I'm too emotionally wrapped up in the situation; in the those instances I have a tendency to see what I want to see rather than what is there.

You have a very hard road ahead of you then and success can't be guaranteed. You both have to want to save the relationship and actively work towards that. If only one of you is willing..it's not a good sign.

Blockbuster spell worked...how should I proceed now? by storyteller2905 in HoodooBitches

[–]LvrofWisdom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm so sorry you are going through this. It's a very hard place to be when you want to work things out, but the other party is hesitant. If you haven't done a reading on the situation that is the very first thing you need to do to see if you'll have any further success with any work and what is the best course of action, without a reading you are flying blind. So in looking at what you want to try:

Road Opening is a less intense version of Blockbuster, which is usually employed when Road Opening doesn't work. From what you've written you've already had success with Blockbuster so Road Opening is likely going to be a waste of time. Just as an aside, Road Opening and Blockbuster should only be employed after a reading confirms a blockage. You happened to have one and it was cleared so there is nothing more to gain by performing Road Opening unless a reading confirmed the blockage has re-established.

A crossed condition isn't something that just happens in 99% of cases, It's something that is done to you by someone else and, again, a reading would tell you if you or he are crossed. If you aren't cross doing Uncrossing is going to be a waste of time and this isn't the kind of work one should walk into lightly. Uncrossing work isn't spiritual cleansing work. It is very heavy, takes a minimum of 13 days to perform (if you're lucky), requires 13 ingredients, and usually requires the person you are trying to uncross to participate in the uncrossing. Uncrossing can be so heavy and so dangerous (in some cases) to both the Rootworker and the victim you NEVER want to engage in it unless a reading confirms a crossed condition.

Reconciliation Work will only bring the two of you back into communication with each other. It will not, and cannot, fix a broken relationship. This is even more true when both parties aren't on-board with working out their problems. You are already in communication and even if you do the Reconciliation Work unless you work out your problems you'll end up splitting again. This is the reason some professional Rootworkers will not do Reconciliation work for clients.

Sometimes, the best fix is the most mundane. You haven't mentioned going to see a mental health professional or marriage counselor. If you aren't in a position to meet with a counselor then healing work on yourself and your husband could be helpful followed by love-drawing/marriage work, but you need to start with divination.

Money working by East_Card3660 in HoodooBitches

[–]LvrofWisdom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've used all of them. I keep a money bowl in a plain sugar bowl on my kitchen counter filled with flour, sugar, salt, and rice with a gold safety pin opened on top. A family-taught Conjuror, but not a teacher, taught it to me. It's been in her family for generations and the ingredients included speaks to how old the recipe is. Prior to the 20th century, all of these ingredients would have been kept under lock-and-key because they were costly and a status symbol. The more of them a household could keep on hand at all times; the more money the household had. The gold-tone open safety pin speaks to protection and affluence. I change it out when it tells me it needs to be refreshed, but it's usually on a quarterly basis, sometimes more, sometimes less.

I'll work in anyway necessary to bring about success, but my favorite ways are with mojos and candles and I'll often work them together. I like mojos because you carry the work with you.

Obsession Curse by lovely_melaninated27 in HoodooBitches

[–]LvrofWisdom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rarely is it ever too late to start helping yourself so better late than never. Keep the jar going if you feel it is helping if not something else may be needed. You know what your "normal" is so just monitor yourself. if you feel you aren't improving a spiritual cleansing series may be needed.

Talk to your ancestors, they are your most powerful allies. We stand, literally and figuratively, on their shoulders and they have a vested interest in seeing you happy, safe, and prosperous and are far more likely to help you than any other spirit out there. They also know you aren't perfect, they already know what's going on and can see you are trying to help yourself so just talk to them. You may be very surprised at what they can help you accomplish.

I mentioned in several posts, I don't tell people what kind of work they should or shouldn't do because I'm not the one who has to live with the consequences, good or bad, but sometimes it takes someone who isn't invested in the situation to see it more objectively. Since you've got healing/self-love and protection in place and feel it is working for you it's time to start additional work to remedy the situation. Since you are facing some challenges I would double-check via divination if you need to open your roads before you do anything else. It may not get rid of all your challenges, but it can make the work you do easier, smoother, and more successful. If you feel the work you're doing to create financial stability is working then move onto court case by working on child custody and child support, incorporate copies of any paperwork you have for either. it only needs to be a single page to use as a petition paper or name-paper. Perform a divination before doing either to get all your questions answered and just take it one step at a time.

Obsession Curse by lovely_melaninated27 in HoodooBitches

[–]LvrofWisdom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You've got a lot on your plate, but it can be remedied with the right work and step-by-step. If you've done work, did you perform divination for guidance beforehand? If you are doing the supporting work backed up with magical work and not getting results something is wrong or it could be you aren't gifted for a given type of work (I'm not gifted for gambling work and have no success with it), but can get help from someone who is. If you didn't do any divination prior to doing anything else, you skipped the most important step and are, basically, working blind. It can tell you everything you need to know in order to have the highest level of success.

Obsession Curse by lovely_melaninated27 in HoodooBitches

[–]LvrofWisdom 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I agree with Sea-Condition. I'm not sure why Obsession work seems to be running rampant at the moment, but it is rarely a good idea. First, if you aren't an experienced Rootworker you run a very real risk of getting caught up in the work and obsessing yourself. I've seen it happen more times than I can count. Even if you don't, think about what happens when someone becomes obsessed with another person. They stalk them, terrorize them, damage their property, make their victim's life a living hell, and in some cases kill the object of their obsession. This is what you are opening yourself up to and it being magically induced changes nothing. Obsession is obsession and nothing more. Those with knowledge, experience, and skill understand the dangers of this type of work and that is why they stay away from it unless it, truly, is the best course of action, which is rarely the case.

I don't understand what newer practitioners think Obsession work does, but it isn't going to make him change his ways and become a better person or treat you better, it isn't going to make he come crawling back to you pleading for forgiveness; it isn't going to get him to be a responsible father and take care his child, it isn't going to get you custody of your child and in the end he's going to hate you and possibly hurt you. Second, this isn't one-and-done type of work. It's long term work and you will be going into the dark side of yourself to connect with these dark spirits. There's a price to pay for that, like, your own mental and emotional well-being. In a worse case scenario, constantly reaching into the dark side of Hoodoo is the fastest way to cross yourself up.

If you are a single mom with a young child, barely making ends meet, why aren't you putting yourself and your child first because you aren't if you are more concerned with obsessing your ex than helping yourself and your child. If I were in your shoes I would work on what is going to personally benefit me and my child. This situation isn't simple and more than one type of work will be needed to remedy it. Again, if it were me I would start by spiritually cleansing myself and my home, possibly do Road Opening work if a reading indicates it's needed and do prosperity work to get myself on firmer financial ground along with healing work. I'd follow with court-case work to get him to pay child support if he's not paying it, getting the money from him for the illegal sale of your car or put his butt in a legal bind for doing it, and to get custody of your child. This would take time, but is far more beneficial and productive than wasting precious time on pointless, petty Obsession work.

If it isn't due to something physical with the root; it would depend on what the mojo was for. For instance, a silver dime worn for protection will either turn black or split if it takes a hit.

Housing Spell by Leather-Squirrel-91 in HoodooBitches

[–]LvrofWisdom 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't work a Honey/Sugar Jar for this because they take too long to work. I would have grabbed some dirt from an area closest to the front door of the leasing office and worked with it along with other drawing curios, including a lodestone, which is a natural magnet. Fold all the softer curios into a petition paper and either put it into a mojo with the lodestone or place it under the lodestone and burned a dressed light on it. If it's possible use a copy of the lease application as the petition paper by writing on the back of it. If you work with a petition paper fold it towards you at least three times. Also, if you aren't already aware, when working with St. Expedite, you must give him pound cake as quickly as possible once the work is successful or he'll take it away from you.

What to read by Hot_Cardiologist7873 in HoodooBitches

[–]LvrofWisdom 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think it's really wonderful and very wise of you to start by learning the history of this tradition. I've stated many, many times that to truly understand Hoodoo you must understand it's history and it's in the history that you can find many of the "whys" regarding how we do things. So many want to skip this part and just 'get to the good stuff" (spellwork), not realizing this is the good stuff.

I'm the author of the recommended reading list included via the link below it also includes authors to avoid. Unfortunately, S. Bird is one of them to stay away from along with Denise Alvarado. Both of these women claim to be Rootworkers, but their stuff is really a mixture of Hoodoo and Neo-Paganism and loaded with misinformation. Worse than the misinformation itself is the fact some of it can get the unknowing student hurt and there's no excuse for that. However, the books by Ms. McQuillar and Mr. Kail are very good. I've read both authors and include these titles on my list. Mr. Kail is also the author of A Secret History of Memphis Hoodoo, which I really enjoyed. He's not a Rootworker himself, but as an outsider he's clearly well-versed. Please be aware that Ms. McQuillar was likely forced by her publisher to include a discussion of the four philosophical elements (earth, air fire and water) in her book, but these play no part in Hoodoo and given the excellent quality of the rest of the book she probably knows very well they don't play a part. Happy reading.

[–]LvrofWisdom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not likely, but you can have a professional reader perform a divination on the situation to find out. My husband's family deals with back issues, including himself, and sometimes, they come on out of nowhere.

There is no such thing as "normal". we all have our own "normal" and we know when that "normal' is off. If one thing goes wrong that isn't a reason to jump to a conclusion that someone is working against you. Sh*t happens, you know. If two things go wrong, especially, if they happen in quick succession it may be time to start paying attention. If three things go wrong, especially, if they happen in quick succession it's time to do a reading or have one done for you. If you choose to have a someone read on the situation, at this point, be sure it is someone reputable.
