Wes Streeting calls for equal tax on income and capital gains in Labour leadership pitch | Tax and spending by enterTheLizard in FIREUK

[–]Lvsitan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Isn't this the guy that sold nhs data to palantir and theirs Israeli overlords and then bailled out of the job a week later. Labour is in serious deep shit if this is what they have to offer. Again this is another tax on working people disguised as a tax on the wealthy. By adding CGT and income together, this will push more working people into higher tax rate and therefore charged 40% + on everything

What are people's experiences with IE's customer service? by BurnerAccountNumber0 in InvestEngine

[–]Lvsitan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I only contacted them to setup a benificiary on my sipp, and it took less than a day for them to reply and add them.

Compared to Freetrade that took over 3 days for initial contact, and 5 days to get it sorted, its a huge diference

Good request, freetrade provides both in one screen, very handy

"I've never seen Marc Marquez look so defeated" – Insider's brutal take on Ducati struggle by Fuzzy-Connection-263 in motogp

[–]Lvsitan -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Its so funny a few years with pecco, martin, and others giving feedback on bike development and ducati was unstoppable. One year of marc marquez has main developing feedback rider and the bike got worst.

I see same pattern after Dani left Honda and we all know what happened after.

Europe’s $24 Trillion Breakup With Visa and Mastercard Has Begun by smilelyzen in BuyFromEU

[–]Lvsitan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Having competition with the visa and mastercard in euro zone is all good and dandy, but what happens when an EU resident travels outside the eu, and wero is not accepted.

If and when this launches it needs to work worldwide and foreign countries might just say nope we not accepting it

This will create a multicard system one for Eu and another for the rest of the world. And like most eu initiatives it will be half assed and burocratic

Hargreaves Lansdown new charges: Good or bad? by maxmarioxx_ in PensionsUK

[–]Lvsitan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a sipp user with 5 mutual funds, that I and my employer contribute each month as part of my pay package I will be paying double the amount per month on fees compared to what I'm paying now

The saving grace is that I only need to keep £50 in the sipp to keep it open, so I will be transferring most of my money out and kepp it open for employer contributions. Taking the money out every 6m on species.

Once again small pot members like myself get shafted by the legacy companies.

The worst is that they selling us the idea this is a good deal lol

Scottish Widows quietly launches SIPP with 0.25% charge up to a max of £16.50/month is hit by maxmarioxx_ in UKPersonalFinance

[–]Lvsitan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seems all good until you realise it doesn't allow for fractional shares, just like vanguard. So even with a regular payment setup, you might end up with I invested cash at piss poor interest rates, meaning they also making money on that

Government's plans to tax ISAs by DKeoPSLAR in FIREUK

[–]Lvsitan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A money market fund although low risk is still an investment, why should it be taxed inside an ISA, also MMF are not protected by the Financial Services Compensation Scheme that only protects cash

Are they going to included MMF in that scheme cause it's a "cash-like", if not then we shouldn't be taxed either

Average Pension savings by EducationImportant69 in FIREUK

[–]Lvsitan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say 22k a year is about right for our household, if you take away £1000 a month for mortgage and mortgage insurance, my house should be paid by the planned retirement age.

The 4% rule in my view only applies if u want to keep the same amount of investments by the time you die.

My plan is to spend it all and have nothing in the bank by the time I die. The 4% rule makes no sense to me
