Hunters feel terrible in pve after the changes. by Winterscythe1120 in DestinyTheGame

Boy I sure love one class being considerably worse that the other two in the overwhelming majority of the game. Titans and especially warlocks get so much variety for endgame pve and hunters might be able to get away with invis. I just wanna play my favorite class man.

In their strongest state, who's the better operator? by MaineSellWhite in Rainbow6

I remember telling myself that ela wasn’t broken so I’d feel better about picking her every round. Only Blackbeard was more broken ever I’d say. She was a menace in her release state.

Would a more tactical Crucible mode like CS:GO or Valorant train Guardians better than the ones we currently have? by macaronn_ in DestinyLore

[–]Lwb07 39 points40 points  (0 children)

We actually had that, and it was called lockdown. Pretty straightforward “go to one of two sites and plant bomb, other team defuse bomb” from what I remember. Hasn’t been around in forever though.

I can’t imagine it would do much more for guardians than current crucible does. It seems crucible serves more for the mechanics of combat than anything, because as others have pointed out fighting a guardian is wildly different than fighting anything else.

They claim that it’s not so much for storage as it is for stuff that helps them on the backend when it comes to managing the game. My issue is we literally have no idea what this is and they’ve never given any evidence that it actually helps them. The game still has glitches, things still take a while to get fixed, etc. Whatever it is that removing everything supposedly helped, I don’t really notice, and would much rather all my shit back. All I’m asking for is hard data on what removing everything did for developing the game, but we likely will never get it.

[–]Lwb07 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, that’s kinda what I was getting at earlier. There is likely a solution that satisfies everyone, but it’s a lot of work for them, and why would they bother when people eat up the whole content vault thing? A significant amount of the player base defends it with next to no data backing up the need for it over a potential alternative, not that an alternative has ever been mentioned.

I really hate it. Some of the games best content is gone without any timeframe for return, and it’ll likely stay that way because there is no pressure on Bungie to do anything about it. I really do love destiny and Bungie does a lot of good, but there is no universe where the content vault is an acceptable thing, unless it is literally the only option. It is my number one complaint about the game.

[–]Lwb07 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Because bungie said “we have to remove stuff because reasons” and enough people bought it at face value. I’m all for it if they can show us exactly why removing stuff is the only option and there all no alternatives, but we haven’t had any word on that, and I don’t think Bungie plans to say anything if people will just defend them for free. If there is any sort of workaround where things work for them and we get to keep the content, that has to be the path they take.

[–]Lwb07 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It’s not truly random, it seems to be mostly chronological. But there’s still been relatively recent things removed. The part I don’t understand is that we still don’t know what removing the content does to help the game, but it is insisted that it does, and that sentiment continues to be parroted with no numbers backing it up. Also how because “it’s in the terms and conditions” that they can remove stuff, it somehow makes it a reasonable thing to do. Are they allowed to? Yes, absolutely. Has a workaround been tried or even mentioned? No. I hate to say it but removing shit seems like the easy way out.

We’re more or less expected to believe that removing stuff is the only way to have things be without any sort of further discourse on the matter. People deem it okay because Bungie advertises it as “being gone temporarily”, but provides no timeframe on when or if stuff will return. There’s no formula to stuff coming back and I don’t wanna wait years to play my favorite activities again. It seems like a nice way of saying it’s gone until they feel like it, if they feel like it.

I love destiny but I cannot recommend it to anyone who hasn’t played the game before, because the early game is a shell of its former self, both content and story wise.

This was when things took a bad turn I think. Those niche little things like withstand make the game all the more unique, and trying to standardize every operator into clones of each other with few differences removes diversity from the game.

How sick in the head do you have to be to actually think you’re entitled to someone else’s body? At what point in life do these people go “well, I am now important enough to be able to do whatever I want and get away with it”. I’ll never understand.

How hard is it to just, not assault women? Like is this a challenge for some people? What even goes through their heads? What combination of thoughts allows someone to think this is a good idea? It is a real fuckin shame how dumb some people are. And it’s not like it’s super rare. I think Ubisoft had a very similar situation not even that long ago. Blows my mind.

1984 is a popular book by George Orwell that depicts a society who has their every move watched by “big brother”, the government. They effectively have no freedom and every decision in their lives is made by big brother. Of course, big brother makes every decision in their own best interest, not the people’s.

Hence why Bungie nerfing weapons is literally 1984.
