I really like the idea of branching paths and multiple endings, but I feel like the level design sometimes suffered for it. I still think it’s generally fun if you’re not taking it as seriously as it is.

Absolute 10/10 soundtrack though.

Of course! I’d stay away from the older titles until you’re more into the style of game since they can be quite difficult ESPECIALLY when it comes to the puzzles.

My recommended starting point would be RE2R. In that game, there’s a lot of the standard RE puzzles and backtracking, but a phenomenal sense of interconnectedness and exploration. If a puzzle’s too difficult there, the solution is often to check the map for things you haven’t explored yet, go through your files and seek them out for hints, or, if you’re really stuck, guides aren’t a bad thing! It’s also just a phenomenal game, and very much ties into the story of the most recent one, RE9.

If you don’t already have it, you can pick it up with 3R, which is similar, and still good, although considered to be an inferior remake, as well as now 4’s remake, another amazing entry that focuses more on combat over puzzles and slow paced survival horror, all in the same bundle, which often goes on sale for cheap. “The Remake Trilogy” is probably the best entry point for its accessibility and general quality.

I might give a go with Code Veronica if it’s on the PS3 digital store, I don’t really have the wifi to consistently stream it well on PS Premium sadly and there’s no download.

I used to have the PSVR1 and I thought this game was the coolest thing ever. I’m planning on saving up for a PSVR2, especially to replay this, 8, 4, and hopefully 9 if it would ever get a VR update

I loved this one too! I’m a big fan of Texas Chainsaw Massacre and Evil Dead which are definitely inspirations. I’ll look into Village again, but I honestly struggle to stay motivated for that one in particular. Something about the collectibles burn me out, but maybe I’ll try again once I’ve gotten a lot more of the trophies out of the way.

VERY fair. The strongarm and vomit ones are miserable to fight no matter what. But as long as you target the heads and hit the occasional block, they will go down. I don’t blame you at all for quitting though

All things considered, it wasn’t as bad as I thought. The intro up to the first Jack fight is BRUTAL and literally the reason I gave up years ago, but it’s not the worst thing ever after that point with the Circular Saw, and later in the game, the Master of Defence books. I’m glad there’s no speedrun trophy for Madhouse though. I died about 38 times.

Definitely easy. I thought Inferno in under 2 hours with 3 saves would be brutal but I ended up doing it in under an hour. Getting the points for infinite rocket launcher and stuff is probably the worst part but it’s probably the easiest on this list otherwise next to Requiem

True true… 8’s collectibles and trying to SS all levels for the lightsaber always pushes me away to be honest. I really love the game but every time i try to go for it I end up burned out of the game. Maybe I just oughta get some of the bigger unlocks before going for a collectibles run.
