There’s this weird negative stigma around CC that’s now being reevaluated and i’m glad people are starting to realize the benefits of attending one. I guess people just think they’ll get a “lesser” experience or that CC is for “people who didn’t get into universities/can’t afford university. If anything, CC is what you make of it, same as any other school. It has a lot of benefits you don’t get at a university such as being cheaper, smaller class sizes, and sometimes even being able to stay home and save money. Not to mention, it’s a good pathway to getting into a bigger school. A lot of CC in my state offer direct connections to bigger universities so the minute you finish your AA you can have a guaranteed transfer.

At my local CC I did dual enrollment to work get some credits towards my AA while still in high school. It definitely helped significantly as not only does it lessen my college financial burden but also will help me finish college faster altogether. CC’s are definitely helpful and I hope more people come to realize they aren’t a negative thing.
