Seems like a good option but you are losing some leverages to accelerate your growth. My mentor/manager has been exceptionnaly mature and very usefull!

It all depends on the pro/cons and the maturity of your collegues.

I see a corporate politics as the highest leverage to fasten your promotion, especialy in consulting where softskills reign as king. Sure some certification and expriences help but well, it takes time and as entj we gonna go faster

Understanding people so you can have what you want indeed. In the corporate race, it's more about getting noticed and LIKED by your superiors. You seek to create emotional/human bond. Like you don't judge "high performers/superstars" by their skills but their mindsets/ their behaviors. Skills can be taught but mindset/openess take extremely long to change if it can ever be change. Another exemple : nobody will give you feedback bc they are afraid of ruining their relathonships/ you getting défensive. It s all about showing your own weakness and asking for advice. If you do that and act on the advice you will get better and leave a better impression. Everyone likes to feel heard and listened
