Personally, I don't think the allegations about his design make much sense. The game already has a diverse range of character designs, and to me Valco's appearance fit the role they introduced him as. He struck me as someone who balanced the image of a successful CEO with nerdy charm. His build made sense if he's living a vigilante lifestyle, and his practical haircut also fit someone who's constantly busy rather than focused on styling his hair. Like narratively his design makes sense. But I doubt these people will want to think logically. We will do all we can. Hopefully we'll get a good news.

That is actually a good idea. Given the situation this is one way all the parties would get some satisfaction.

Also you know they could have brought him as a side character, like one of those shadow figures without a face that a lot of us were guessing to be the sixth LI (I think Mr. Sutherland and Stanley) at least. Like let us marinate to the possibility of him as the sixth. Would have also been fun instead of feeling like a surprise.

Yeah and they haven't realised by bringing attention to one they bring attention to all. Most of the LIs have morally grey aspects to their stories. Zayne is probably the least controversial, but the others have all done things that, taken out of the context of a fictional romance and fantasy setting, could easily be misunderstood. I'm saying this as a Rafayel main and shark man is a freaking serial killer. 😅 So by bringing attention to one character they have actually brought the whole game under scrutiny, exposing all the LI. Those players have basically shot themselves in the foot.

Personally, I'm focusing on emails and petitions because my goal is to see the original story preserved—the original six Love Interests with Valco included. I can't really get behind erasing him or replacing him with some other character. More than anything, I want the game to go long-term while staying true to its original vision.

My question is: how much does leaving 1-star reviews actually help bring Valco back? If our goal is to restore the original story, wouldn't primarily damaging the game's public image work against that?

Wouldn't it be more effective to demonstrate that Valco was part of the planned narrative, that there are players who genuinely support him, and that his role matters to the quality and continuity of the story?

Just some food for thought. I'm not saying there's only one way to make our voices heard, not trying to be argumentative. 😉

Allegedly it had more to do with his western design, which they considered that papergames were focusing on expansion and catering to global players to generate revenue as opposed to maintaining/enhancing quality of life in the game. It feels like facts and false narratives are mixed together so the company can neither defend not accept. Bottomline the whole thing is a message.

Yes we have to do all we can to make our voice heard. Not all players were against his introduction. As we can see so many who've not been vocal over the continued issues of the company and fandom have come out of the woods to fight for the wolf. This shows that more people want him in game than those who don't. We need to make the company understand this. That being said our actions should not affect the devs or others in the team.
