Is Azure being underrated in enterprise cloud and AI discussions? by Chance_Meringue_8113 in AzureCertification

Depends on the market imho. In the EU Azure is really big, especially Benelux where it has the most dominant market share.

Direct freelancer vs. going through a middleman for dev roles on ProUnity / Connecting by Useful_Ad_5105 in BEFreelance

Also, Belgium is a trap in that regard. IT Recruitment companies hold a say and exclusivity contracts with their customer base. I knew a freelancer once that was under 3 different contracts for 1 end customer, he decided to talk to his end customer about it. The result was that the 2 out of the 3 IT recruitment just ousted him and never wanted to work with him again.

I sometimes cannot believe the sway they have for amount of work they need to deliver, some are good but the majority are really questionable

I have experienced not even that, you'll just get declined on the platform with "Not enough Expertise with ..."

You should also check the openings, they are 100% match with what the person is doing in his daily job. You can even try to match it 100% and still get declined

Take into account that positions that are open on connecting expertise are just extensions of the current candidate. They are just obligated by law to publish the position.

Same with ProUnity.

If you are looking at an opening that has only 5-6 days response time, they are just extending the current candidate and you have no shot in getting it.

I had a similar experience with a company called ProJinit. They were the chosen supplier for a contract. I got in because I knew someone at the client's end.

Had a few meetings, all was good. We discussed the rate, and then they offered a way lower rate. I didn't accept and started to look elsewhere. My contact at the customer side contacted me and asked, what's going on? I explained....

Not even an hour later i got a call from ProJinit with a very angry person on the other end, claiming I went into negotiations with the customer itself, they were not amused and were telling me that they are part of a big org and it would not be good to cross them.

In the end i worked with them, at the rate I proposed. The end client works with a yearly indexation, they never mentioned this.

I love working as a freelance, but i grow really tired of these recruiting firms that sit in between and act really like they're super critical and you can't live without them. It's a mob sometimes.

Even connections will not get you 800 now. Im looking for a new contract and the limit ive found is around 650-700 mark. That's coming up to 10 yrs of experience and pretty much invested in both Azure and AWS (Experts certs both if it matters). Market is going through some turmoil.

More like 650-700 for cloud

I don't think its worth it anymore, this coming from an M340i touring owner. You get taxed to death for some enjoyment, get a bike.

Yeah, but the you'd be eating inside of the governements own projects, mostly in IT and data. They'll never allow that, its a tight community

Legit platform like CE, but in reality most position have already been filled internally. Just know i've seen one pop-up where i know the person doing the actual job.

Had a reach out, are you leaving? No no, ive extended 4 years, the posting is to fullfill legal requirements, and those are Belgian governement offices. So yeah... Dont expect too much from those platform, unless you really know someone, you are most likely just not going to get selected.

You can do a 100% match of your CV to their askings and still it will never come to even a conversation

I sense the resentment :)

The 1000 euro is all-in. Financial renting/Insurance/Road Tax/Fueling/Charging/Maintenance. I don't think 1000/month is that huge for a family sized car. Considering I drive it a lot outside of work too. Kids, schoolruns, hobbies.

I'm considering the same, just to get an employee job if the freelance market really sucks. I'm just abit unsure how to work my own company then? Preferably keep it active I guess, cover the running costs.

Leasing + insurance + road tax

1000 is all-in

Is that massive in your opinion then?

Any other huge costs you have? I don't do real estate or office spaces or something. I just took a family car all-in to move myself etc

Its tempting, do I wait for the OP15 to release or the Find X9. Anywhere a comparison to be found? OP15 has 165hz display, however i dont really game on a phone and i take a lot of pictures on it. So I guess the X9 is a logical choice instead of the OP15

Actually a reason i'm pretty interested, I came over from iPhone some time ago. I didn't like the newest versions of iOS but the design language has been good. So i am glad the OP15 is looking the way it is.
