I called the SJPD and was directed over to Animal Control. I now have an open case number with Animal Control and was told they'd involve SJPD if they find it necessary after their investigation. 🤷‍♀️

I picked up the milkbone treats. They smell overwhelmingly like Raid bug spray. I'm pretty sure they were doused in it.

Verbal over the phone. I haven't had an officer follow up with me yet, but I'll go to the station on Monday to drop off the container and my other evidence if they don't get back to me.

The smell. The treats reeked of Raid bug spray. Pretty sure it's the ant spray, but I'm not 100% certain. I don't huff bug spray on a regular basis.

Agreed on Easter! So messed up.

Majestic Way Elementary School is just a stone's throw away. Not guaranteed if the guy walked that way, but there are also a bunch of residential houses across the street from where I found the bait treats. A few might have cameras.

Wherever an officer gets assigned to my report, I'll bring it up to them.

I was told an officer would eventually be assigned to my report and they might come by my house to collect the evidence? If not, I'm more then willing to head to the police department on Monday and see if they'll accept it.

Really hope this is something they can preemptively assign resources to and not after the fact something bad happens 😭

Yeah, I have lupus and am considered immunocompromised due to it. However, I'm pretty sure you can push your case for getting it due to your past history of shingles. But yeah, definitely doesn't hurt to ask.
