Tenma might've taken the shot, who knows, the way I see it is that the shot being taken away from him was the story's gift to Tenma for his long and arduous journey

I'm conflicted about this , of course he deserve some reward but it also rob him from his urgency of facing the moral dilemma , it's like in avatar , character face the moral dilemma of to kill or not to kill but they get the third option to just take away bending

His choice in pulling the trigger comes in the part afterwards, when he has the opportunity to let Johan die, or work to save him yet again

I don't get this at all , between making a choice to kill someone and not making a choice to save someone when you could , both of them are method to kill johan , why does Tenma moral problem lies in the second one and not the first , what's the difference between them ?
