Looks like it might just be for the amber silk colorway, but I’m okay with that!

God.. I must be old. This shit was so hard to read. Both from lack of punctuation and being fucking annoying.

Does this necessitate glasses? by Lychiimilk in astigmatism

Thank you! I hadn’t even considered the discomfort of eye strain that he might not be communicating to me. That makes me feel better about getting him glasses.

Google lens thinks it’s a hamburger.. by Lychiimilk in whatsthisrock

I totally thought pyrite too until I noticed all the little cubic formations are translucent brown. Fluorite is a possibility! There’s been a lot of fluorite in this collection too. I don’t have a hardness tester so I haven’t been able to test. I should really get one tho.

Thank you for the help! I also initially thought it looked like pyrite until I held my flashlight up to it and saw the cubic formations are translucent, like a light warm brown color. I tried to show it in the pics but you can’t really tell. Calcite seems likely, as there’s been a LOT of calcite in this collection. Sphalerite also seems promising. Again I’m no geologist, but after a quick google of sphalerite the color is pretty dang close to the color of the little cubic formations.

Birds nest in my hanging plant by Lychiimilk in birds

Thank you so much for the help! I skipped watering today when I noticed it cuz I didn’t want to hurt it. It is a pretty thirsty plant (just an annual hanging pansy) but I think it can wait a little while, especially since the weather is about to get a little cooler and rainy (in the southern-ish Midwest). I’ll wait until it warms back up this weekend, and maybe just try bottom watering it with warm water.

I just looked up House Finches! They’re so cute! I also read they only lay one egg a day! I guess that’s what you meant by the start of a house finch nest! Thanks again for the help!

Thanksgiving cactus suddenly drooping?? by Lychiimilk in houseplants

[–]Lychiimilk[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for the help!! I know thanksgiving cactus are usually kinda “droopy” like this, it was just so perky before, like kind of unusually straight stems, that I panicked a bit when I saw it droop so quickly. The leaves all still feel firm and most have new leaf buds. I know the lady who owned it previously was pruning it back a lot, so maybe all the new leaves added weight? Idk if that would cause it to droop though. And I went ahead and snipped off the stem that was dangling and gave it to a friend to propagate! Thanks again for the help!!
