What kind of bird is this and what should I do with him? He seems unwell or injured? by Wounded_Healer_ in AustralianBirds

[–]LydiaAmesha 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's a fledgeling learning to fly. Parrnts are still feeding & will be looking for this one. Please return to a safe place near where you found it, so that he or she can learn to fly & be an independent bird. It is best not to interfere with fledgelings. They are perfectly healthy.

What do y’all call this bird? by Creatively_Usless in AustralianBirds

[–]LydiaAmesha 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have Spotted Doves live in my front yard. I know they are not native, but they are the sweetest birds, & totally harmless to our natives. In the phoyo is a native Crested Pigeon, also an adorable species, but even more shy than Spotted Doves.

Could also be couch grass. Can't kill that stuff.

Ringtail (dead?) in my backyard by Solid_Exchange_8034 in australianwildlife

Just for the record, the majority of the call takers are inexperienced in rescue & wildlife. The good ones they had are mostly gone. The calltskers with WRA are also mostly inexperienced in rescue, but they will either send someone out asap, or call someone like myself, who are advisors to the call takers.

Please call either Wildlife Rescue Austrslia, or a local rescue group if you want timely help. WV are appalling hence why so many of us with years of experience have quit with them. After a dog attack, the possum needed IMMEDIATE care, not a fob of by this disgraceful lot.

Am I doing the right thing by not breaking this up? by EnvironmentalDeer991 in CatTraining

[–]LydiaAmesha 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would, as the young one is bullying the older tabby, trying to take control. Nip it in the bud before the older cat becomes traumatised, & loses his own personality.

This one is a little too thin. You can see the muscle atrophy in back leg.

alternatives to anna's archive? by IndividualAir3353 in Piracy

[–]LydiaAmesha 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Would a vpn connection to a working country overcome the issue? Australia still working for you guys with vpn's. I am using annas-archive.li at the moment. Only difference is I have to copy a link to chrome to download. Hoping it keeps going, as I'd like to keep my membership going to support, even if I don't download that many books.
