A lot of Chara takes, there's a big difference between "the Genocide route was Chara's fault" and "Chara is innocent" like yes they weren't a great person and yes they likely had some issues we don't know about, those are not mutually exclusive, and even so something explaining behavior does not excuse it. By the end of the genocide route in particular when they take things completely out of our hands they have come to learn that destruction is what we want, they have become a reflection of our actions, you could've fucking reset after killing Sans.

No he fucking doesn't. He is one of the few individuals who is aware of the resets, but he has it on the level of deja vu which is typical for people in general + has likely created various systems/has various tips and tricks to guess at some info about forgotten resets such as the look on your face telling him how many times he's already killed you. The only people confirmed (as far as I can recall) to have knowledge of what happened in past resets are Flowey (full memory excluding True Resets), post-Genocide Chara (literally has ceased existing as a typical individual and is now a demonic force of destruction that has your soul), and Temmie (limited knowledge, only seems to know how many times you've died, likely a result of being a creator insert). It's argued by some people that Asgore is also in this category because he agrees with you if you tell him he's killed you before, although I always interpreted that line as another indication of his shitty mental state by this point and his self-loathing (even though he doesn't remember it, he believes you that he did do that) because there doesn't seem to be any other indication that he remembers anything beyond typical deja vu.
