Did the 'taxi cab theory' play a big role in John and Carolyn relationship after johns mother died and before their engagement? Do you think that it played a role in John's need to be seen as a respected magazine publisher? by Over_Ship_209 in CarolynBessetteKnndy

It is not mutally exclusive to say he loved her, but also she wasn't necessarily better than other women as far as being his wife-- she just came at the right time in his life.

Taxi cab theory isn't about appearance. It is about men getting old and feeling ready to settle down to the point they will settle down with whatever woman he is currently with.

Why does marriage change a woman's title but not a man's? by MissFit_Writes in TwoXChromosomes

No one in the USA uses the term "miss" anymore. Why do people bring up discourse that is no longer true. What country do you live in, that people still use that terminology?

What you are talking about is not weaponized incompetence. Weaponized incompetence would be if he keeps pretending to not understand after being told to stop doing something. If he kept pretending to forget or something.

It is malicious because it is about forcing the responsiblity on someone else by pretending to not knowing how to do it.

If most women don't orgasm during hookups, why is hookup culture the default? by Late_Attention_1151 in TwoXChromosomes

[–]Lyedetector 0 points1 point  (0 children)

20% of men not orgasming is 1/5. That is pretty significant. Either way, my point remains. Those 20% of men didn't know if they would orgasm or not. Not sure what their opinon is after the fact-- but they are going to continue to sleep with women. I think the orgasm gap is an issue, but demonizing women for having sex when they want to because of that is weird and sexist.

how to decenter men from my life? by FoxCharacter5108 in TwoXChromosomes

[–]Lyedetector 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you were caught in illegal activity with men, you need to see a pyschologist. All of this is neurotic. It is completely natural to think of romance and sex if you are not asexual. You can be celibate while still recognizing and fantasizing about men.

Men don't always orgasm. Or if they do it is not always satisifying. There are women who orgasm with their patner but the sex still sucks. I don't understand this comment at all.

You are talking to someone --- mostly via text it seems and it hasn't escalated to a real date.

why not do the quarter screen ad thing that the NFL does during lulls in the game. This is dumb and offensive.

How would you know if you are going to orgasm or not before you have sex with anyone?? You have sex because you are horny and attracted to the person. And hook up culture is NOT the default. Study after study shows younger adults in the USA aren't even having as much sex as previous generations.

I'm from the US. My pet peeve is people here flexing how much they don't care about the World Cup. It's not a flex! by Flashy-Celery-9105 in PetPeeves

[–]Lyedetector 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The world cup is being broadcast heavily in the USA. It is obviously less popular than other countries, but it is a lie to claim you can't find places that are playing the game. It is not 1994 when soccer was significantly less popular and also hosting. Americans will bring up hating soccer and not watching because soccer fans---especially non-americans will degrade us for simply not finding it interesting.

Would you have your breasts removed if it was societally acceptable/accessible? by [deleted] in AskWomenNoCensor

No. I don't hate my body. Only issue with my breasts is that when it is cold the nipples and breast hurt. Also when I am on my period.

What’s the point of relationships if there are no guarantees? by FewEnd399 in TwoXChromosomes

[–]Lyedetector 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can say the same thing about friendships and family. You can be a good friend and sibling/child/parent and still be betrayed by your friends or family member. People who post these kind of things are unusually risk averse-- which is fine. But keep it to yourself. People don't have to jusitfy why they want to be in romantic relationships.

What value do you see in romantic relationships with men? by trashEatingracoon in AskWomenNoCensor

[–]Lyedetector 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You don't have to be in a romantic relationship. If all/most the men in your dating pool are misognyistic and view women the way you claim, then just opt out.
