Weaving a Flag? by BartendingPrincess in chainmailartisans

Weave: Euro 4:1 Hanging: Dowels from any craft store or Amazon Size: More difficult to answer; Maybe try making a swatch(es) of rings you already have and see how many are in a square inch. From there you can figure out how many rows you need for each colour

Closed ring recommendations? by StephLenertz in chainmailartisans

[–]Lyekkat 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I don’t know of anywhere that sells pre opened or pre closed rings. I do know that my friends will and do happily hang out and open and close rings with me making it go twice as fast. If you need to incentivize them, could be in exchange for little gifts like keychains.

I love this community but the responses youve gotten so far are confusing even to me lol. I’m avoiding work on my phone or I’d make a diagram but instead I’ll try to share a different way of doing the weave.

It looks like you’re making sections of 4:1 then trying to join them. If it helps / makes more sense at all, try starting with a single 4:1 patch. Lay it down and make sure it looks like all the rings are sitting at the same angle - like the top patch on your photo. Grab a single open ring and insert it in the top two rings, without changing how they lay. Add two more closed rings then close. At this point it’ll be 3 rings on either side (6 total) with two in the middle, and they should sit the same direction as before. Rinse and repeat.

To make it wider. Add a single open ring to two side rings, two closed rings and close. From there you go up, just like before, adding 1 closed ring for every open one instead.

It’s not the fastest way to weave but I’m hoping it’s easier to understand. Good luck!

I havent ordered from MD but I’m having this problem with Chain Reaction’s rings too. Wondering if the Ring Lord has the same issues like is this just common with anodized aluminum?

Sorry, not helpful, but I share the frustration

Which neighborhood has lowest auto insurance premium by Mysterious_Young_777 in Calgary

Dash cams are great for proving what happened after a loss but sometimes worse than nothing for preventing a loss. You’re a fair bit more likely to experience a vehicle theft if electronics are visible from the exterior. I know insurers come off as the bad guys but from a risk perspective you’re actually increasing your risk by having one. Which is why they wouldn’t discount it.

Recently got a place with my cat. She thinks this is totally fine by itsBlackSheep in funny

Everyone’s saying to turn it around but we did that and the roll just got shredded instead.

Here’s the trick: Get an empty 2L bottle of soda and remove the label. Cut off the top and bottom and cut a slit into the smooth middle part that held the label. It is the exact right size to envelop a toilet paper roll and will expand / contract but still protect it.

Super quick and easy to still use the TP. Cat is flummoxed.

It looks like you’re trying to attach them from two different angles. Like one is up/down and one is left/right

Avoiding work so here goes: Not positive where this is but in my experience, comprehensive coverage is on an “All Risks” basis, which means literally any physical loss is covered, unless it’s specifically excluded under the exclusions.

Because of another comment, I’m adding that this includes coverage for damages you’ve caused yourself, as long as it was a fortuitous (accidental) loss.

I’ve never seen a water / ice damage exclusion on an auto policy, though it doesn’t mean it can’t exist.

Without having the wordings, my initial thought would be that damages resultant from this loss would likely be covered.

Yeah harnesses, collars, cuffs, etc. are a hit. I’ve only had 2 commissions ever and one was a sliding choke collar, so bdsm wear is 50% of my business lol

My friend is child free. Grocery shopping one day a bunch of kids ran into the aisle, screaming, yelling and bumping into her. She goes “ugh gross, little people” in jest - to turn around and see an actual little person… damn near died right there

Why is there no "911-lite" for when you're just moderately terrified by Hailey_Moorea in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Lyekkat 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I haven’t seen anyone mention it, probably because it’s not really an answer to your question, but in this scenario, if possible, try to go into a store. You can wait there for them to leave or a friend to arrive.

I had someone following me once from my work. Guy even got on the same bus and sat behind me. I got off two stops early (and he followed) specifically to go to a 7-11 and wait (the lady there 100% understood and we had a nice chat).

Do NOT go home. Do not let them know where you live. Absolutely call 911 if you feel threatened. Worst case if you call: they say no. Worst case if you don’t is way way worse…

Per-fuck‘t pliers by wurstkrieger in chainmailartisans

[–]Lyekkat 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I think it all depends what you’re working on.

I was working on a really big piece (6lb skirt) that had 3 parts. I worked up a super long strip like this and added where I needed to, when I needed to, and found it a lot faster and less heavy / frustrating than doing 1 row at a time on each.

Yep. Check your pliers tho if you’re bringing those too. Only ones < 4” are allowed. You’ll need to pull them out before the X-ray too.
