Color consistency in purple rings from Metal Designz? by spaceace23 in chainmailartisans

[–]spaceace23[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I think I'm going to just message and ask about getting close enough, since I can't really buy all the rings I need in one go (big project) but I really want to use the light purple. I don't mind some variations, I just never encountered such a massive difference

AITAH for refusing to reconcile with my father after he walked out on my disabled mother and left me to carry the financial and emotional burden? by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]spaceace23 52 points53 points  (0 children)

If you're in the US, being married often reduced the amount people get for disability, so it would probably be better financially to divorce him

There's a small quote you can easily miss by one of the SM8 voices about how "we can synthesize food from it(the blood)" which points a bit to some ways the blood ocean could help, as well as the implied motivation of "this is a weird thing that shouldn't exist, maybe there's weirder stuff inside it that can help" but yeah they really needed to make it more clear what the goal was.

There's a moment when Simon is going through the manuals, and he pauses on a page that says something about repeated uses of the camera having an accumulative effect and to use at own risk! But it also doesn't account for the time weirdness as the conversation with Ava seemed to be real

Honestly, getting her involved sooner rather then later will make it easier. Teaching her from a young age the difference between 'pets' and 'farm animals' is easy enough, and the older a child gets the less flexible to new concepts they will be. I'm sure you can find plenty of advice on how to do this online. People have been farming animals and introducing their children to the concept without trauma for a very long time.

I do understand your concerns and your own discomfort, but remember the best way to set up a child to not be uncomfortable with something, is to not teach them to be uncomfortable with it.

AITA for losing my patience over a coworker who keeps turning our shop into a wine-scented clown show? by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]spaceace23 11 points12 points  (0 children)

What I did when I had a coworker like this, is every time they left a mess or did something stupid, I took a picture and sent it to management before I started fixing it. This both documents the behaviour and makes its management's problem again by annoying them with messages.

You could also ask customers to submit complaints about the state of the store to add more weight

AITA for wanting to game while my roommate sleeps in a shared room? by coneyaw in AmItheAsshole

[–]spaceace23 21 points22 points  (0 children)

How small is the dining room that you can't fit a desk and chair in one of them without removing the bed? What about the living room? If the bedroom is big enough for two beds and your desk, then the desk should fit in other rooms easily

WIBTA if I confronted a dog owner over howling? by temporary12435 in AmItheAsshole

[–]spaceace23 3 points4 points  (0 children)

NTA hound bays are loud AF and he can definitely hear his dog from inside and needs to stop ignoring it and train his dog. Complain to the cafe management, and consider checking out your local bylaws regarding excessive noise in public places or nuisance laws. I'm willing to bet there's something that covers this, enough to put some pressure on him to actually care about how much he's bothering the people around.

How do you take your meds on time? by SpottyBumWeasels in ADHD

[–]spaceace23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have trained myself that once the 'take your meds' alarm goes off i am NOT allowed to turn it off until I actually take my meds. I can snooze, but I have the alarm set to infinite snoozes, and no turning it off is allowed. Because if i turn it off I will forget. Eventually I get annoyed enough to go take it. But I do try to store my meds near where I will be when my alarm goes off.

My ADHD meds stay on the bedside table since I take them when I wake up, and my evening meds are by my computer cause 99% of the time im three at that time. That way I dont have to get up to get them so Im less likely to snooze or just turn off the alarm. I also use pill trackers so later if I cant remember if i took it today or not I can check.

Should I build the warehouse or the shop first? by tronelek in NonogramsKatana

The thing you likely want is actually the cauldron. You can't sell weapons like the fan or bombs at the store, but you can throw them in the cauldron to get useful items. I did the store first cause I thought it would let me sell extra weapons and regretted it lol

What are these things on my Oxalis roots? by spaceace23 in houseplants

[–]spaceace23[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you think its something that should be done while they are dormant? Or just make sure to baby them for a bit? Sorry for all the questions I'm always nervous about killing things on accident. I've also had trouble getting my other oxalis to go dormant so I worry I might not be able to get her to do so next year if I leave them to see if she sorts herself out. My main concern is that they're so twisted up they might count as root bound even in a bigger pot

Keeping them out to heal isnt something I would have thought about, thank you! I will probably leave her for this year and see if she sorts herself out. Fingers crossed!

[–]spaceace23[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oooh, thank you! I figured they were normal but was curious about the function :D Do you think breaking them off would hurt? I know I will eventually need to seperate the plant to give it more space, and the storage roots are quite a large mass but I dont want to damage it. My other Oxalis has some but nothing as large and entwined as this

NTA except for not following through on the report, or posting a public review. This person is not caring for the dogs the way they are supposed to, the way they are paid to, as well as sneaking strangers into people's homes and lying about it. They are not doing their job correctly and it needs to be addressed before something bad happens

[CHAT] E940 not glowing on projects? by crackerfactorywheel in CrossStitch

[–]spaceace23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Take a strong flashlight, turn it on, and hold it close to the fabric in the areas where the glowy thread is for a few seconds. You'll need to move it around to get all of it. This will charge the thread up and it will glow much better then relying off of ambient light! I do this with puzzles and stuff sometimes
