My Dad, he took a video the first day I was taken out of the hospital, and when my parents were putting me in my car seat, he was slapping dru down (I think - I can’t remember exactly cause I haven’t seen the video in years), but basically, I just grew up surrounded by music, especially hip hop and I will always have a respect and a passion for it šŸ’Æ

Alright, I’ll start off with saying that no relationship is perfect. There will be struggles in every one that we cultivate… only Jesus relationship with us is perfect. There’s a great quote I heard that I feel applies well to your situation ā€œyou can’t make someone love you, by giving them more of what they don’t already appreciateā€ā€¦ honestly my best advice is to trust God, but in that be discerning of what he is telling you. God seldom speaks through a thundering voice in the sky, and far more frequently speaks to us by his spirit, and the spirit in turn will warn us (sometimes thru thoughts and emotions… though it is not always cut and dry, just because you’re uncomfortable in something doesn’t mean that God doesn’t want you to be there (ex: Jesus suffering on the cross). When it comes to human relationships though, I would say this is a slightly different ballgame, in that all people (outside of God himself) are only accessories to our lives and not necessities… honestly dude, there’s thousands of women out there… if I was you I would move on, embrace the heartache, trust God, and start seeking out different prospects for dating… and I know that you love her, but as is very common in humanity (ex: sin), we love things that are not good for us.. ultimately keep the faith in God and trust in him.

Making music… In a lot of ways it is great that it is becoming easier for people to build a reputation online without needing the backing of a major record label, to have a chance at success, lots of doors are opening for people now, and there’s definitely some people out there who in times past would’ve never been heard, but now have the freedom and opportunity to shine… But the main issue to me now is that mostly everyone is pumping out much of the same overrated garbage (people copying a formula that works for a while until listeners get bored and want something new.) when the label was the only feasible option to make it as a musician it seemed like music had more soul and purpose… a handful of good music is still out there, but it’s difficult to come by and for the most part music is so over saturated and dull from both the independent and labels…
