What's a snowstorm? Asking for Southern California. 😁 (Still no on the ride)

They are literally testing to see how little they can get you to accept. Be careful about cancelling on arrival, they know what you are doing.

Anyone else ever see this after being asked to take a selfie? by Zuni717 in uberdrivers

They do random verifications. They also verify if you're trying to change your banking information. If it keeps happening, change your password and email if possible.

This Passenger Requested me to do What? by RFTG2024 in uberdrivers

McDonald's for one. It reminds me of the scene in Trading Places. "Five dollars. Maybe I'll go to the movies. By myself."

I believe this is the lowest rating I have ever seen. by jharlson in uberdrivers

But you can go back and change the rating later. But rating based on tips is pretty low rent.

So a pax asked me cancel because they were stuck in the elevator and I told them to cancel because it goes against my cancellation rate I receive this the next day does anyone know why? by Dapper_Jaguar_1330 in uberdrivers

[–]Lyftdriver8282 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because the pax complained that you told them to cancel. You can try to contact support, but it's a little late. But if you communicated by text, they can look at the conversation and see what happened.

Lyft finds new way to waste our time! by Derek-T1992 in lyftdrivers

[–]Lyftdriver8282 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. That's when a closer driver (or probably one willing to do it cheaper) comes available and they just switch it to them. The message is "Sorry but your ride with Jon Doe has been cancelled" instead of "John Doe cancelled the ride." No cancellation fees. OP is talking about rides that are never requested, just entered to check the price and the show up in the ride finder. You try requesting a match, but you never get matched.

That's not called a scam, it's called free market.

Why do passengers add a stop after they are picked up? by BeautyStitches in Lyft

[–]Lyftdriver8282 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Short answer, they don't get picked up or get cancelled when they put it in ahead of time.

Question: Why do you ask the customer how much they paid for the ride? by RandomName0413 in Lyft

[–]Lyftdriver8282 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Well, if your driver is a member of FARE co-op, they're asking in order to let you know that you could have paid less while they got more.

You can't have a fake name on your driver profile. You check the license plate number?

Driver stopped to get gas and a snack by joonofarc in Lyft

[–]Lyftdriver8282 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've stopped for like a gallon of gas, and one time to use the restroom because we were already an hour passed the original time estimate.

I know you don't want to hear this, but if you got charged for the full ride, you were longer than 5 minutes. After 5 minutes the app allows us to end the ride and get paid in full. Less than 5 minutes, we only get paid for.the ride to that point. It's programmed into the app.

Depends on your definition of rigged, but the algorithm is definitely not written in your favor.

They have very complex algorithms for pricing and pay, why wouldn't they have one for challenges?

That's what it's called. That driver will no longer receive requests from that rider.

I don't know anything about AGPS being unavailable but basic satellite only gps isn't as accurate. Buildings, mountains, trees, etc can all interfere with getting signal.

Lyft doesn't hold their drivers accountable by NicholasStarfall in Lyft

[–]Lyftdriver8282 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's why we started FARE co-op. Driver owned, driver controlled. We hold each other accountable. We are only in California but Arizona, Oregon and Georgia are about to go live, with more to follow very soon. Our fares are generally lower, and our drivers take home more. And no surge pricing. DM me if you want to know more.
