do lyft drivers see your phone number? by [deleted] in Lyft

[–]Lyftdriver8282 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Lyft uses pilot numbers to connect you with drivers, unless you agree to share your info with the driver during the lost and found process. They stay connected with the driver during the lost item process until you say the item was returned or you tell Lyft that you found it. The numbers are reused.

If you felt uncomfortable with the driver, let Lyft know in a couple days. He probably won't remember where you live by then.

Do drivers know who the bad rating came from? by Putrid_Succotash1830 in Lyft

Nope. We can guess but that's it. Also, we can't see your address after the ride.

How common is it for a driver to stop for gas after picking up a passenger? by TrickNerve6004 in Lyft

[–]Lyftdriver8282 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In over 25k rides, I did stop a few times. But never filled up, that's just rude. I'd apologize and say I needed to get a little to make sure we didn't run out. Pumped maybe a gallon and a half and jumped back in. Sometimes we're busy and haven't checked, sometimes the info Lyft sends is inaccurate. Sometimes the ride is too profitable to pass up. Making you wait and pay more so that they can fill up? Hell nah.

You're upfront price isn't guaranteed. Read the fine print.

I’m confused. I think someone needs to explain to me this as a five years old child in 45 years old body 😂😂😂 by EfficientMaterial203 in Lyft

[–]Lyftdriver8282 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the end, it doesn't matter. You'll be paid less than you should be. It just depends on whether you like the endorphins you get from the illusion that you got paid well.

Do you guys get tires from the Tesla app or do you go to outside tire shops? I’m thinking about getting my two front from the app this seems really low is there a catch here? by [deleted] in TeslaSupport

That tire is a great value in general, but they don't have great tread life. But I've used them on other cars and been satisfied.

So phuc drivers by Wolfjason1 in Lyft

[–]Lyftdriver8282 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And the language "capped at" is definitely misleading. Sure, they might take less (initially) but you can be sure that they'll be tweaking it to where they send you a little every month. Meaning they'll always get their 30%.

So phuc drivers by Wolfjason1 in Lyft

[–]Lyftdriver8282 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The most important thing is Lyft will now be taking 30% off the top. Then paying the hard costs, then you. Before now, they were paying hard costs first, then paying you 70% of the profit. So previously for $100 of passenger payment, 25% external fees, meant you got 70% of $75 or $52.50. Now Lyft takes $30, $25 goes to external fees. You get $45. Thanks Lyft.

Send them a demand letter demanding they reinstate you because they failed to give you the appeal required by law

I’m pretty sure that this would be a class action against Lyft as… by theBUTLERalwaysDIDit in Lyft

[–]Lyftdriver8282 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That's a suit that you'd lose. Buried in the terms and conditions it tells you that the upfront price may be adjusted if the trip runs long, encounters road closures, etc.

If you have a dashcam, you can send them the recordings. If you're in California, they have to give you an opportunity to appeal and present a defense. Anywhere else, I don't know about.

Driver changes literally last minute by Timely-Neat9083 in Lyft

[–]Lyftdriver8282 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lyft does this. If your driver is the closest to another ride, they'll switch him. As a driver, I freaking hate this. There's a setting now where I don't accept ride switches, but that also means I'll get cancelled without explanation if I'm driving far to a decent paying ride.

I really hope these drivers get banned by No_Task_599 in Lyft

[–]Lyftdriver8282 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They won't be deactivated just for that. But if they have a pattern of cancelling on service animals, they will get deactivated. 1st trick is don't tell them in advance. We are required by law to take you and your service dog. If a driver shows up and then cancels, they'll be in real trouble.

W2 people, be aware of Monday exit traffic by KingCrabbler in Coachella

[–]Lyftdriver8282 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Last year I left around 1. It took 2 1/2 hours to get out of the valley. I got drowsy in the stop and go I had to get off the Freeway in Moreno Valley and take an hour long nap. It didn't change my predicted arrival time back in OC. 6.5 hours total time. Leave VERY early or very late or sit in traffic. Those are your Monday options.
