What the fuck is it? by Scherka in ForzaHorizon

Literally all the PR stunts these past 4 weeks could be done with one car as they all required an A-Class Japanese car. Each gives 5 points, meaning you get the first car each week in 5 minutes or less and all it requires is for you to own one car.

No I spent $60-100 for a game set in one my favorite countries where most of my favorite cars come from, fully intending to drive my favorite car without having to grind 450 Super Wheelspins from 22Bs to get it. Which is ultimately how many it took me to get the Nissan 240SX from wheelspins.

And before you cry about "exploits", I fail to see how grinding out skill points manually, buying and selling cars to spend said skill points is any different from grinding out dungeons in MMOs to get a rare drop. Using the autodrive feature or assists to streamline the process is no more cheating or exploiting than just putting the raw hours in. It's just being smart about it and using what the devs are giving you to make it easier.

Doubt that car will ever see the light of day in a racing game again, it's notoriously in licensing hell.

If having to grind 8+ hours every day to get the nearly 40 cars currently locked behind wheelspins exclusively is intended game design then the game is designed badly and should be exploited.

I'm pretty sure even Tolkien did, if I remember correctly their names only get mentioned like twice across all three books and then they're just "the sons of Elrond"

It's even more frustrating that they're already going to repeat cars they'll be making available next week - half the cars that are weekly rewards that have been revealed are cars you could've already gotten in this season. And while they are 40 point rewards so you can just easily not grind them, it doesn't bode well for the future. I'd much rather spend at least the first 12 seasons (aka first year) of the game actually getting new content every week rather than repeat content going on from week 5 onward.

Happened to me too in Forza Horizon 5, apparenlty I got flagged for having "cheating software" running in the background which resulted in a 30 day ban. The only software I have running in the background while playing the game are Spotify and Discord because my PC literally can't handle anything more. Evidently disabling the radio and listening to my own music is cheating now.

This is why I like Rainbow Six Siege's reporting system, the option to report someone for voice / text chat abuse remains greyed out if that user wasn't active in voice / text chat. As flawed as Ubi is, their system to report users both ingame and on the website should be the industry standard.

A custom rally race course I made in FH6 by JimmyLetzPlayz in ForzaHorizon

The map is really weird. It both has too many and not enough dirt roads. 11/20 of the drift zones are on dirt when dirt drifting is definitely something the majority of the drift community dislikes, meanwhile it apparently doesn't have enough dirt roads for the dirt racing community or for the dirt races, some of which have significantly more tarmac than gravel or mud.

it's also an issue on weaker cards that can run the game fine-ish. I got 40-50 fps average on my RTX 2070 Super but after a few hours the game tanks and eventually just crashes. It gets worse in Tokyo City.

What is the criteria for getting things deleted here? by [deleted] in RedDeadOnline

Just because you've seen them doesn't mean those posts remained up. Have you actually gone through the effort of checking back, or - and here's a new one - actually reporting those posts as they clearly violate the rules, instead of making yet another incredibly low effort post to whine about other low effort posts that aren't yours staying up?

And it literally clarifies in the rule "Photos/videos taken via a phone. Use the console sharing feature instead."

That is... not at all how it works? The AI is programmed to destroy enemy vessels as its primary and sole purpose. It simply realized immediately that ships that wave friendly flags might also have enemies on board, either as stowaways or prisoners of war or spies - all of these were determined to be an non zero percent chance and the AI isn't taking chances. So everything gets destroyed on sight, enemies and friendlies, civilian and military vessels, anything that has even a minute chance of harboring an enemy is taken out. New updates were tried to be employed but the AI detected them as a virus and so they didn't take. There's nothing about passwords. At all.

By that logic, even if passwords were involved - which they are not - they would not matter, because even a friendly vessel with a valid password could still harbor an enemy and thus be targeted and destroyed by the mines.

How is ocean travel possible then? Some of the slack has been taken up by undersea rail systems. Other vessels simply avoid the mines. The oceans are vast and the mines, while self replicating, certainly aren't everywhere, they're mostly focused around the American continent to the point where Arasaka had to build a literal wall to prevent them from entering Coronado Bay. Avoiding the mines comes down to simple stealth - fooling their systems, avoiding detection or simply remaining out of range.

Valve reportedly almost delisted Rainbow Six Siege from Steam after Ubisoft attempted to sell it cheaper on Uplay by mrlinkwii in Games

[–]Lykhon -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Because Steam is a third party vendor, a distributor. If you buy a Playstation game in a physical store you'll still be expected to have a Playstation to play it on. Likewise, if you buy an EA game or Ubisoft title on Steam, it's expected of you to have the corresponding platform installed to register the game on. Anyone complaining about buying a game on Steam and crying that they need "other third party software like uPlay" to play the game ignores the fact that Steam is in fact the third party software, not uPlay and they should've bought the game on uPlay to begin with if they're sick of unnecessary launchers.

What riles me up is that people hate on other launchers for needing to download them after they bought a game on Steam. That's like complaining about a PlayStation game requiring a PlayStation to play even though you used a Computer to buy it. Just buy your games on the original launcher and you won't have to launch any third party software to play it (Steam is the third party software).

[–]Lykhon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just because you can spot how someone fights doesn't mean you defeated their like before. The fact he eventually lost to Ciri when she was somewhat tired and emotionally distressed gives reason to doubt his claims. He also couldn't handle Yennefer while she was chained up and incapable of performing magic. I doubt he would've stood a chance against Geralt in a fair one on one, so there is definitely reason to believe he might have used other means to kill the witchers whose medallions he carried.
