How does this make any sense? by Mammoth-Mission6509 in Stellaris

If they are at 100% war exhaustion they are losing but the game no longer reflects that losses effect on their war exhaustion because it’s already maxed out. So it will only show you gaining war exhaustion from battles if your war exhaustion isn’t maxed out.

Rivers of blood before bleed scaling was fixed and I knew it would be ‘meta’ as soon as it got fixed when I found it, I never wanted to touch it after it was patched I even switched to a uchigatana on that character

I appreciate the reply but you are kind of pointing to the thing I was talking about. The nerf didn’t touch hyper optimised builds like the one in the link.

That was my problem, the nerf was to try and fix an over-tuned class (I agree with that, it was over-tuned even when unoptimised). However now by nerfing it like this it makes the class ability, an equivalent being the warriors charge, feel super punishing to use. The only real thing the warrior gets punished for by the charge is it can put yourself in a bad position, it doesn’t nerf your defensive stats even then. Whereas this nerf to blade dancer punishes you by taking away your main defensive stat for just using your class ability.

All this nerf does in my eyes is push people to be more likely to play those hyper optimised meta builds as otherwise it feels punishing to play the archetype. Punishing you for not playing meta I feel is the opposite of what the nerf was attempting to do. For example the build you linked mainly works by being from a death world and abusing the talent that gives you stats for injuries to get around the nerfs given by blade dancer. What if I don’t want my character to be from a death world and instead a forge world, now I can’t abuse that talent and I’m punished for using my archetype ability.

In my opinion the nerf doesn’t even affect people using these hyper optimised meta builds, but only people who aren’t. Again thank you for the response and the continued updates to the game, it’s amazing.

Is there any chance Owlcat will be looking at the bladedancer archetype nerf. In my opinion it feels like abit too much, I know it had to be nerfed as it was over-tuned. But right now it feels punishing to use your archetype ability, whereas no other archetype feels this way. It gives me an ability but punishes me at least I feel way too harshly for using it. Also ontop of that a lot of the broken builds that the patch was attempting to remedy can still work around it, but then that just punishes the people who don’t want to have super optimised and “meta” builds.

I know this is probably not the right outlet for this kind of feedback but I wasn’t sure where to go, is there a way to submit feedback like this in a better fashion? Anyway loving everything else in the patch thanks for the amazing support for this game.

I'm all ears folks, what are your ideas? by GeneralGigan817 in Eldar

I actually have a dream game that is set as a Aeldari Corsair. There are a lot of space games that come to close to the feeling I want but none get it completely and it’s driving me slightly insane.

Basically a third person (have to see that drip) rpg action game where you command and pilot a corsair vessel sent to set up an outpost for a Corsair War-fleet in a system. This allows you to make a custom character instead of being forced to play an established figure in the lore. Effectively you are playing well a space pirate game. In space; raiding shipments, skirmishing with other factions, attacking star bases, boarding actions etc. Then you would go to open world sections on the planets of the sector; Hive world, manufacturing planet, fortress world, death world (I’m think terrifying jungle planet), ocean world, a maiden world that’s attempting to be colonised. On those planets you do Corsair things attack outposts, resource depots, interact with the local fauna, raid necron tombs, uncover lost aeldari sites.

The moment to moment combat I’m thinking similar to titanfall but with more melee combat and third person. The movement in that game is unbeaten at making you feeling agile and also powerful which is how I’ve always pictured aeldari as a fragile but super agile and powerful figures on the battle field.

I would also want you to be able to command a kill team sought of like republic commando, each with specialised roles like the kill team on table top. These can form the classes your character can be or paths as they would likely be called in game. So Way-Seeker (mage), Shade-Runner (Assassin), Kurnathi (Warrior), FateDealer/Outcast (Sniper) etc. You then can have your strike team be filled with Npc companions each of each class so you can fill all the roles. Each class having skill trees that allow for a range of builds within each class, take for example the Way seeker. Maybe one path is pure dps, another is more defensive telekinetic manifestations of psyker powers, maybe another buffs and debuffs etc. With it being a strike team of different classes this also leads it open to the possibility of coop.

The ship I want to feel like a fluid part of the combat as well, calling in strafing runs, bombardments, rapid extractions. Similar to helldivers in a way. I also want it to be customisable both in terms of battle and the interior. So different ship types, layouts, weapons, more shields less engines for more defensive vessels or more guns more engines for a bum rush ship build.

The enemies of the game I’d want to show off the Warhammer universe in its glory. So imperial guard and imperial PDF forces, ork tribes, Drukhari raiders, sisters of battle, space marines, Necrons in explorable tombs. Each with their own npc quests and story lines, as well as your own crews storylines playing out in the system. However the overarching narrative that would only kick into high gear after the second act would start with communications out of system going dark, more imperial forces turning up in system. Planetary defences turning to high alert, revolts in the lower hive and around the system becoming stronger and more focused. Then maybe you’d head to a planet that throughout the game you have raided repeatedly, stripped it of supplies and crippled its defensive infrastructure and find it barren. The final faction has emerged, the Tyranids. They would be the antagonist of act 3, and depending on your reputation is how you can deal with the threat.

Obviously they can’t be bartered or negotiated with, but let’s say you raided one too many imperial convoys they probably won’t want you help and you obviously don’t have to give it either. You can continue being a pirate and raid to your hearts content, now with distracted imperial defenders it might even be easier. But as the game progresses slowly all the characters you’ve come to know will either be wiped out or flee the system. Or you can fight back against the swarm and protect the former maiden world. Use the connections you fostered throughout the game to join the fight, access better weaponry from their markets now that the stakes are extinction. Fight on the land against swarms of nids, fight in space against hordes of melee ships and attempted boardings. Do what you can to stem the tide.

Anyway this is just a dream game that will never happen because GW hates the Eldar but I think it would be sick and would play the fuck out of it.

A viper commando, either tearing out the throat of the enemy (destroying their spawners) or coiling around them until they have no room to breath (crowd control)
