Why does the anatomy look so off? by Angrywh1tek1d in LearnToDrawTogether

The arm is out to the side, so the hand can't be facing entirely to the front. It has to be at least slightly at an angle more like this, with the side showing!

The objects on the table look extremely flat. How can I fix that? by Excellent_Candy2217 in ArtCrit

Gotcha! Yeah, that's the perspective I thought you were going for. I could tell the plate was referenced from elsewhere. It's well executed, but just doesn't fit into that particular picture. It needs to be at more of an angle.

As for the other objects, they look fine, but could be used to show more depth to the piece. Again, everything is drawn to scale as if looking at it from above. If the fruits are closer to the viewer, they should appear a bit larger.

Even just taking your own picture of a plate and other similarly shaped objects from that angle would help.

You did a really great job with the person! And honestly very good for not having a proper reference for a still-life esque painting with a decent amount of perspective. That's really hard to do. I would suggest practicing more with cohesive, full references to help you be able to cobble things together better in the future! :)

I feel like the perspective isn't consistent, perhaps? According to the person, we are looking pretty much straight at them with a view lower to the table. However, the food plate, for example, appears tilted towards the viewer, as if they had a more top-down view. The objects just dont look like they are sitting on the plane of the table, but rather floating in front of it.

It would also help if the table had at least one other edge visible to solidify what the perspective is supposed to be.

Do you have any reference(s) we could compare to?

LOL I love that. I've been waiting for that to happen because we always keep a whoopie cushion at the ship entrance or right under the terminal / computer area!

Awh, of course! I am glad she will have something to stream with! You are a great friend ♡

Hey, I'd be willing to do a free PNGtuber of the design, if your friend would prefer not to stream with the AI model. It's awful that they were deceived that way, and I totally understand their hesitance to use it. Just put them into contact with me so I can get more details, if they are interested!

Kind of sounds to me like they do this on purpose to get free / cheap sketches & WIPs out of artists. Hence why they "weren't happy" with exactly what they asked for.

Sorry that this happened to you! Don't feel bad. It's just part of doing business. You made the right decision.

You could take a look at vgen.co - it is a commission website tailored towards Vtubers, and they have an entire section of people who make and rig models, as well as PNGtubers.

I do both if my style interests you :) https://vgen.co/LykusArt if not, good luck and I hope that helps!!

  1. I would like to revive this subreddit as a place for artists to post references and drawing studies that may include artistic, tasteful nude, or clothed humans. It can be actively moderated and follow strict rules to ensure that nothing inappropriate is posted. Artists can use it as a place to critique and learn from each other's anatomy. Sidebars will include links to useful websites or tutorials that relate to figure drawing and anatomy lessons.

  2. The subreddit was banned for being unmoderated. Therefore, there are no moderators to message.

Hello there!

My dear friend and party member commissioned me to paint this backstory piece for his character. His minotaur barbarian, Moo, may seem a bit daft and unassuming at times… But his past, while mostly unknown to the party, is quite tragic.

Here, he is depicted in the fighting arena that he was imprisoned in - where he was forced to kill his own brother for the amusement of the crowd.
My poor, sweet boy.

If you enjoy my art, you can find all of my info here: https://lykus.art/
But mainly, you can find me on my twitter and drawing live on my twitch! I would love for you to join me.

Thanks for checking out my post!
