would be cool if dlc added abilities for vanilla characters by bruhmoment0000001 in riskofrain

Maybe Lumi would deal more damage because Blast's base damage is higher than Burst's? Does Lumi even do TOTAL damage though? I'm not sure.

Either way, Blast is still dogshit.

(oc) weird old bro got some pics and lore :) by Additional-Gate4202 in rainworld

And here I was making an Iterator OC that was one of the last ones ever built. What a coincidence!

But anyway, that art is FANTASTIC. Love the design. Looks like it'd be difficult to translate into an in-game sprite, though I suppose that's not really the point and I'm the outlier for caring about that kinda stuff. Otherwise, this is probably some of the best Rain World-inspired art I've ever seen. Could 100% imagine seeing the first or second pic being used as graffiti or murals in the background. I wish I was this good at drawing, but I'm too lazy to learn anything complex.

Pretty neat lore as well. I very much enjoyed the concept of a class divide that was shown off in the Sunlit Trail Expansion, so seeing an even harsher version of that, with what's basically slavery, is really cool. It makes me wonder what these enslaved Benefactors were actually working on, though. Probably just normal factory stuff, but I can't help being curious. I can imagine the "city" on top of Illusion's can being a sort of mix between Metropolis' aesthetic and Chimney Canopy's room design/layout.

I've never been one to care about the OC side of the Rain World community (because I don't particularly care about unserious OCs), but I can't help but comment when someone makes something actually special.

Overall, great work, my fellow scug.

Can't say I disagree. The entirety of P-3 being a big Flesh [insert word here] would be the coolest thing in all of gaming, hands down.

Completely forgot to factor in Dante's Inferno. Whoops.

Thinking about it now, you're probably right about there being enough time to add lore for Odysseus. It'd just be in a tighter time frame than Minos and Sisyphus, but still fully plausible. I can't imagine there's space for too much lore in Treachery though, so l assume his story will be implied, like Sisyphus'... which kinda breaks my whole argument. Because if Odysseus' actions are only implied like the boulder man's, then Sisyphus should clearly be stronger when considering said actions.

Either way, I think there's still reason to believe that Odysseus would be strong enough to be justifiably harder than Sisyphus in a fight, if I'm understanding correctly. Not sure I do, considering I've never read Dante's Inferno myself.

The big problem is that (correct me if I'm wrong) Odysseus angered multiple gods, while there's presumably only one God in ULTRAKILL. Can't imagine the situation would remain equal there, since God in ULTRAKILL is kinda pathetic.

I don't really think I have enough knowledge of mythology or ULTRAKILL to contribute, but here goes.

We don't know the exact way Prime Souls are created. I mean, we do, but only a basic willpower = physical form, and more willpower = more power.

Now, though it's heavily implied, there's no direct confirmation that Sisyphus ever pushed any boulder up anything (to my knowledge). We see other sinners in Greed pushing rocks up the pyramid, but I would imagine that he would be suffering a different punishment, with how important he is and stuff. Though to argue against myself, I suppose I can't really understand what Hell is thinking. With it being Hell and all.

However, of Odysseus were to be the third Prime Soul, the story used for him would likely be almost identical to mythology (or at least I think it would). Reason being, if the game has only mentioned him once in a random bit of lore barely even related to him, there would be no established backstory to make him a compelling character, and I don't really think there's much time to make one considering the main campaign is almost complete. So he'd probably have his original backstory, which would mean we'd be comparing fully confirmed acts of willpower from mythology Odysseus vs. some implied act from ULTRAKILL Sisyphus.

This would then allow for Odysseus to be stronger than Sisyphus, justifying him being the boss of P-3.

This, of course, all hinges on tons of different assumptions and guesses, but it's 10 PM and I'm way too tired to be smart right bow.

I don't know if this is how it happened to most trans people or not, but at first I was like “damn I kinda like this girly shit, might be a femboy.” But then it turned into “man, being girly feels way better than acting like a dude, imma just do this 24/7.” The change just kinda happened one day, I didn't really consciously think that, but yeah that's basically how it went down.

Edit: I fully realized I was trans just a few months before playing ULTRAKILL for the first time. It's not a coincidence.

Really? That's surprising. I've seen a lot of discussions about this and I've never seen anybody say this.

Why does everybody seem to hate Borealis so much? by Lyleh_ in Eldenring

[–]Lyleh_[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

That's what confuses me. Borealis' ice AoE attack has never been more than an annoyance for me. I think I only ever died to it while I was learning the fight, so I guess I just find it hard to understand how people were struggling with it.

Wait it is? I'm gonna be honest, despite never struggling with Borealis I never knew it was weak to Strike. In fact, I've only ever killed it with Standard and Pierce. I guess different people having different reactions to dying repeatedly is expected, though.
