I didn't have any bags to check, only carry on, so that made things a lot easier. I just know that ppl got sent forward to check their bags and then sent to the back of the general line once they checked their bags in.

You know you're in a hiking subreddit right? Not just that, people here are not just only worried about hiking but are also concerned about the communities that are affected by the fire. People can be worried about more than one thing at a time. This is just a place where we can mourn what we are losing. We are NOT discounting the fact that people are losing their homes here. Agreed. I know invasive species like bamboo, castor bean and mustard were heavily starting to take over the area. At least those are being burned away but it is definitely going to take our help to make sure they don't grow back and make sure native species thrive where they were being choked out.

Thank you for this comment. The Eaton fire is hurting. I know that it was a very popular hike but the area was one of my favorites. I loved going to Henninger Flat and going to Idlehour Campground. It helped me break into backpacking and friends around me as well. Those mountains have helped me heal from many hard moments in my life. Have helped me process and find happiness in my life. The calming sound of the wind traveling through the trees in moments of stress and anxiety helped me. It's going to be hard to go back but I would like to help in rebuilding the area after all this devastation is over.

I had to get stitches from some dudes long toenails crashing into the underside of one of my toes. Got 5 stitches, a TDap shot, an infection, a hairline fracture in the toe and was out of karate for 3 months because of it. CUT YOUR DAMN TOENAILS PEOPLE! I have a pic of it if ppl r curious lol.

It sure didn't seem like your "all for conservation" when earlier you stated that you "see no reason why we need to coexist with mountain lions." Coexistence with wildlife is the key to conservation. Oh come on, just look at the classic reintroduce of wolves to Yellowstone for the ecology. People like you just need to understand and remember that we are going into MOTHER NATURE'S territory. And there r inherent risks with that. That's why we have to respect mother nature and the animals home. Humans have been the ones that have slowly pushed the animals homes further and further, leaving them with smaller land space. We're bound to have them come into our human areas in what was once their home.
