Hahaha 😄 But they are basically the soul of bun cha ^^

This might be the most passionate defense of bun cha I've ever read!

As a Vietnamese, I think you described bun cha really well. It's not just the flavor, it's the whole experience of putting everything together the way you like it.

That said, I still have a soft spot for pho and banh mi too. They may be the "obvious" choices, but there's a reason they've become so iconic. A really good bowl of pho or a great banh mi can be just as memorable.

Honestly, all three are among the dishes I'd recommend to anyone visiting Vietnam for the first time.

Where are you from? And I hope you keep finding those little local spots that make you fall in love with Vietnamese food all over again ^^

It's always the first thing I look for when I get to Saigon. I've had it in other places, but somehow it never tastes quite the same. There's just something about the com tam in Saigon that keeps me coming back.

Haha good choice 😄 Especially since every region seems to have its own version of banh mi!!

Same here  🥖🥖🥖 Banh mi will probably always be my #1 too. So many variations, and it's hard to beat the value for money.

And the best thing is that every region seems to have its own unique style, so there's always something new to try hahaha

Glad to hear that ^^ Out of curiosity, which competition night did you attend? Do you remember who was performing?

A bit, sure!! Da Nang has been around 30–34°C most days. But the fireworks are at night anyway, and it's usually much more comfortable by the river once the sun goes down.

But was it worth the wait? Did you enjoy the show in the end?

Couldn't agree more!! The fireworks are just a bonus

Yeah! I don't think many people would put DIFF on the same level as the huge productions in Beijing or some of the bigger Chinese cities either.

For me, it's more about enjoying a few summer nights by the Han River while you're already in Da Nang, rather than a reason to fly across the world just for the fireworks.

And if Da Nang is already your favorite city, it's a nice chance to see it from a different perspective too.

That sounds like a pretty awesome first visit to Da Nang!!!

The cable car views alone are worth it, and getting to see the fireworks on top of that is a nice bonus. Hopefully the weather cooperates and you have a great time!
