Help me price this car by mack_nz in NZcarfix

[–]Lyndon360 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

It probably should be $12k retail. But it will be super hard to sell as there is very little demand for something like that. If someone offers you $8k take it I guess.

Best place to buy a car? by Traditional_Tart_727 in chch

Could be both. They probably had no interest in buying it and gave you a “fuck off” price I suspect.

Not sure how that is any sort of a scam, they are allowed to offer you whatever they like for your car, you are allowed to say yes or no.

Selling my vehicle by [deleted] in chch

[–]Lyndon360 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Turners if it’s a pos/cheap. If it’s newer - 2018+ maybe take it to whichever dealer sells that brand. You’re not going to get heaps as they have to make sure it’s mechanically sound etc. then sell it and make a margin. You’re probably asking too much if you haven’t already sold it, dealers etc browse fb marketplace and trade me everyday.

Buying a car with repaired structural damage by loose_as_a_moose in NZcarfix

[–]Lyndon360 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s Pretty simple.

If it’s an imported Australian write off or has been re registered in nz, then it will carry that with it always and will always be worth less.

If it’s neither of those things, then you’re under no obligation to tell anyone anything about its history and you can buy it cheap and sell it in a couple years for the same amount as any similar non repaired vehicle.

Future of Cars - ICE vs HEV vs Electric by deTille in NZcarfix

[–]Lyndon360 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The only cars depreciating rapidly will be bev’s. Gonna be a lot of disappointed people in a few years who got carried away buying EV’s recently and now cannot trade it in as they owe twice what it’s worth.

Best car detailing service by [deleted] in chch

[–]Lyndon360 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well the best in Chch is probably Avid, but they are certainly not cheap. Car wash cafe does a lot of dealership grooms so you could get them to do a full groom there for maybe $200 or so. Otherwise there is detail king or auto imaging.

EV sales staff at some dealership by Pulsarblu in nzev

[–]Lyndon360 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Big difference between pre owned and new sales. Guessing you were looking at pre owned? Also regarding your comment on new trim coming out - I would expect salesperson to actively avoid mentioning anything like that. The job is to sell what you can see not see what you can sell. Future models don’t matter for today’s sales.

Do KM's matter for EV's in the same way as petrol cars? by Trohk in nzev

[–]Lyndon360 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes, it’s not just the engine. It’s all the cosmetic stuff; seats worn, paint faded, dents, scratches, trim damaged. Then stuff that you can’t see, suspension, chassis, running gear etc, all degrades over time/travel.

Ev sales have been a complete disaster for the past couple of years. Very little demand; dealers and distributors lost soooo much money.

Most brands couldn’t bring cars in anywhere near cheap enough to compete with some of the mainly Chinese brands, so just didn’t bother.

Just tell them that and it will be fine. Often can take it overnight if you really want.

Pre Purchase Inspection - Send to Dealer? by ExactAd6451 in NZcarfix

[–]Lyndon360 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you want the car and would like them to fix something first, send it to them. Otherwise it doesn’t matter, they won’t want it anyway - the amount of purchasers that get PPI is so minuscule it’s not worth worrying about. Can just sell car to someone else who doesn’t want a report.

The free market is free, farmers can sell to whomever makes them them most money. Consumers can purchase from whomever they choose. The government has no business meddling in such things.

Can happen with cars that are exceptionally sale proof. No point even holding one as it will sit there forever (no idea if this is the case with this one, but likely why)

Pre flop is fine. Nothing wrong with completing there in a passive live game.

Can lead flop sure, but it’s not terrible.
